Mobile terminals of BI View User do not display My Analysis. For details, see section “On Mobile”.
FineBI provides multiple user types.
View users: can view dashboards, but cannot edit them or process data.
Design users: can view, retrieve, edit, and publish data, components, and dashboards.
Common definition of “Named User” means a single identifiable individual with unique, non-generic login credentials (such login credentials may not be shared with anyone beyond the single identifiable individual) . While, the license of FineBI only limits the maximum number of viewing and design users, and can change the permission of different individuals through configuration. For example, if an employee enrolls or resigns, new employees can be authorized from the licensed employee by changing the permission.
1. If the system is not registered or the number of user is not limited in the system registration information, there are no restrictions on the number of users of all user types in the Platform User interface by default.
If user restrictions are not enabled, all users have permissions to use FineBI's PC and mobile platform, and view and design FineBI’s projects by default.
2. The super admin is a BI design user by default.
3. A user can be both a PC User and a Mobile User.
4. A user can only be added to either the BI View User group or the BI design user group. FineBI design users have viewing permissions by default.
Different types of users have different types of permissions.
PC User
PC access permission
Determines whether you can log into FineBI on a PC.
BI View User
Viewing permission
Determines whether you can view directories within your
permissions after logging into FineBI on a PC.
BI design user
Designing permission
Determines whether you can use My Analysis, Public
Data, and Recycle bin after logging into FineBI on a PC.
Allows creating folders and subjects in My Analysis.
Allows creating data, components and dashboards in
the subject in My Analysis.
Allows publishing data and dashboards to the directory,
and sharing or collaborating to others.
Allows retrieving and editing the public data within the
scope of your permissions.
Allows deleting data, components, and dashboards to
or recovering them from Recycle bin.
Mobile User
Mobile access permission
Determines whether you can log into FineBI on a mobile
device and view directories within your permissions.
PC access permission determines whether you can log into FineBI on a PC.
If you are not a PC User, you do not have this permission.
In this case, when you log into FineBI, the system will prompt: Username is not available.
Viewing permission determines whether you can view directories within your permissions after logging into FineBI on a PC.
As you are not a FineBI user (BI View User or BI design user), even the admin assigns you the permission to view directories, you can see the directory on the left side after logging into FineBI, but when clicking to view details, a prompt will pop up: Sorry, you cannot view this page. No permission, please check the platform user settings.
Designing permission determines whether you can use My Analysis, Public Data, and Recycle bin after logging into FineBI on a PC.
If you are not a design user, My Analysis, Public Data, and Recycle bin will not be displayed on the left side of the page after logging into FineBI. Therefore, you cannot create, modify, or delete any data, components, or dashboards.
Mobile access permission determines whether you can log into FineBI on a mobile device and view directories within your permissions.
If you are not a mobile user, you do not have mobile access permission, and when you try to log into FineBI on a mobile device, a prompt will pop up: You have no right to use the mobile terminal for the time being. Please contact the administrator.
