    Application Scenario

You can save an analysis subject with all its resources (including dataset editing operations) for step loss prevention.

During subject editing, you can use the freshly processed data for component editing without waiting for data updates.

    Subject Analysis

First, create an analysis subject, add data, and perform an analysis.

After dataset editing, you can immediately use the latest calculation results for visual analysis, improving the efficiency of your analysis.

For example, you added a column through Formula Column during data editing. You can directly use the added column for analysis on the component editing page.

    Subject Saving

After editing the analysis subject, click Save before exiting the subject.

If your subject is only for personal analysis without sharing requirements such as publication and sharing by public links, you can click Save only (no need to click Update) just after your subject is completed.

You can trigger the saving through the shortcut key Ctrl/Cmd + S.

If you exit the subject without saving it, FineBI will remind you of unsaved modifications and ask if you want to save and update the subject.

    Draft

During subject editing, a draft is automatically saved every 2 seconds, which can be modified by the admin. If you encounter an unexpected server/client crash, you can load the draft when you re-enter the subject editing page.

However, drafts are not foolproof. For example, content within pop-ups (such as long formulas in the formula box) will not be saved in drafts. Besides, other collaborators can inadvertently discard drafts during subject editing, and unique network conditions can lead to outdated draft content.

Therefore, after editing the analysis subject, you are advised to perform Save before exiting the subject rather than close the browser directly.

    Version Recovery

If you forget to save the subject and exit it before forcibly closing the browser, you can find the Special Archive record in Version Management and restore the content.

You can click Read in the Special Archive record to restore the historical version and continue to edit the subject.

    Subject Release Scenario Plan

Many enterprises have release scenarios, and dashboards published to the directory cannot be frequently modified.

However, modifications to dashboards are updated in real-time on the directory.

The dashboard reflects modifications made by IT personnel or analysts in real time.

This often leads to colleagues asking questions such as, "Why did this data change?" or "Why is my component missing?" They may also request, "Can you check the xx dashboard in the directory? It seems to have a problem."

Unfortunately, developers can only respond helplessly, "I'm still editing."

Therefore, FineBI 6.1 provides different plans according to various user scenarios.

    Recommended Solution

You need to synchronize the analysis results to a directory or a public link for others to view.

Save and Update the subject where the tables need to be updated.

Save the subject where the tables are the latest

(no need to update) and are only used in dashboard/component modifications.

You want the subject for personal analysis and viewing only and not viewed by others because of the shared public link or the publication to the directory.

Save a draft version in Version Management and exit the subject without saving it.

When entering the subject next time for further editing, you can restore the subject version and continue with your operations.
