Functions
This document briefly introduces how to create a data portal dashboard and publish it to the directory in the FineBI system for other users to view.
The configuration and use of data portals generally involve the following five steps.
Business Background
A group company hopes that sales managers of each branch offices can perform the following operations after login:
1. Quickly access common dashboards and go to commonly used sales data boards.
2. View the sales situation and progress of the company in real time.
3. Receive important announcements issued by the headquarter in a timely manner.
To this end, you can create a dashboard, including Bulletin Board, Quick Entry, My Favorites, and Sales Performance components, through the data portal plugin.
Visual design is shown as the following figure.
Preparation
Installing the Plugin

Preparing a Dashboard
This document takes Sales Director Real-time Dashboard under Business Theme > Sales Management as an example to demonstrate how to create a data portal.
You can also prepare a dashboard by yourself.
Creating a Role
Because the data portal dashboard needs to be given to sales managers of each branch offices, you need to create the role Sales Manager in the FineBI system and configure corresponding personnel.
Log in to the FineBI system as the admin, choose System Management > User Management > Role, add the role Sales Manager, and add the user Alice to it.
Creating a Directory
Choose System Management > Drectory Management.
Click Add Directory to create a directory Sales Manager and set Terminals to PC for mounting templates required by Data Dashboard component and Quick Entry component.
Mount relevant dashboards under the directory Sales Manager.
Creating a Data Portal
Adding a New Portal
Log in to the FineBI system as the admin and choose System Management > Data Portal > Portal Management.
Click Add Portal, set Portal Name to Sales Manager-Homepage, Terminal to Desktop, and Portal Demo to Unified Data Portal, and click OK.
After the empty data portal is created successfully, it is opened automatically in a new window. You can refer to the following steps to edit the contents of the data portal as needed.
Modifying the Layout of the Unified Portal
Modify the layout of the unified portal, delete the existing Text Component and System Operation component.
Setting Image Component
Click Other, select Image Component, and drag it to the data portal dashboard as the title.
Click Upload Image to upload the prepared title image locally and set Fill Method to Proportion Adaptation. Click to download and unzip the title image: Title.zip.
Set Weblink to https://www.fanruan.com/.
Setting Data Dashboard
Click Data Dashboard, select the directory set in section "Preparing a Dashboard", and find the dashboard.
Select the components needed,add them to the data portal dashboard, and rename component titles.
Setting Quick Entry
Add relevant directory and link for Quick Entry component.
Adjusting Style
Setting Page Background
You can set the page background without selecting any components.
Set Background to Image, click to upload the prepared image. Click to download and unzip the image file: Page Background.zip.
Setting Component Background
After selecting a component, you can set the component style.
Set Title Text to Helvetica Neue and 16px, Component Background and Title Background to #FFFFFF, transparency to 50%, and Round Corners to 10px.
Saving and Previewing
Save and preview the dashboard.
Mounting and Sharing
Enabling Customization Support

Log in to the FineBI system as the admin, choose System Management > Data Portal > Portal Management, and enable Customization Support.
A prompt pops up: After enabling, users can customize the portal content, are you sure enable?. Click OK.
Copying Link
Log in to the FineBI system as the admin, choose System Management > Data Portal > Portal Management, and click Generate Link.
Setting Homepage
Log in to the FineBI system as the admin, choose System Management > Directory Management > Manage Homepage, and click Add Homepage.
Set Name to Sales Manager-Homepage and Homepage Type to Link, and enter the link obtained in section "Enabling Customization Support".
Setting Directory Viewing Authorization
Log in to the FineBI system, Choose System Management > Permission Management, and assign the viewing permission of the corresponding directory to the Sales Manager under Role.
Directories that require permission configurations include:
1. Directory that mounts the data portal
2. Directory that is used by data dashboard components
3. Directory that corresponds to the Quick Entry component
4. Directory from which users hope to receive report dynamics (Terminal of this directory need to include PC.) This section takes Industry Application as an example.
Assigning Component Data Permission
Log in to the FineBI system as the admin, choose System Management > Permission Management, and assign Component Data permission of the dataset used by the dashboard in the directory of section "Setting Directory Viewing Authorization" to Sales Manager under Role.
Demonstration
Publishing a New Announcement
Log in to the FineBI system as the admin and choose System Management > Data Portal > Component Configuration.
Click Add Announcement, set Target Portal to Sales Manager-Homepage, enter the announcement content, and click OK.
Demonstration
Log in to the FineBI system as the user Alice (the user corresponding to the role Sales Manager) to view the effect.
Alice can cutomize the dashboard content as need because Cutomization Support has been enabled.
