  • Overview

    Application Scenario

Your data is stored in SAP. However, due to data security concerns or limited knowledge of underlying tables in SAP, you find it hard to connect to underlying SAP databases for data fetching.

You want to fetch data by calling the developed functions in the SAP system for further data development and processing.

    Function Description

FineDataLink allows you to fetch data by calling developed functions in the SAP system.

For details about parameter-based data fetching, see Data Fetching via Parameter-Based SAP Function Calling.

    Prerequisite

You have connected FineDataLink to the SAP system before fetching and developing data. For details, see SAP Data Connection.

    Procedure

Call the API function to fetch country data from the SAP system, get data whose LANDX value is USA through filtering, and write it into a database.

    Fetching Data from SAP

    1. Create a scheduled task, drag a Data Transformation node onto the page, and enter the Data Transformation editing page.

    2. Add an SAP ERP Input operator, select the data connection mentioned in the "Prerequisite" section as Data Connection, and enter the function, as shown in the following figure.

Or click Setting to select the developed SAP function, as shown in the following figure.

Click Data Preview to view all the fetched data, as shown in the following figure.

Select and delete the parameter in Output as needed, as shown in the following figure.

The ... option under SAP ERP Input > Output has been changed to Output Parameter since FineDataLink 4.1.12.2, as shown in the following figure.

    Filtering Data

    1. Add a Data Filtering operator and connect it to the SAP ERP Input operator.

    2. Set the filtering condition to LANDX In USA, as shown in the following figure.

Click Data Preview, as shown in the following figure.

    Outputting Data

    1. Add a DB Output operator and configure it to output the processed data into a database table, as shown in the following figure.

    2. Set Write Method to Write Data into Target Table Directly.

    3. Click the Save button in the upper right corner.

    4. Run the task.
