Please refer to Section II Insert a Simple Chart of Chart Series. Those already familiar with inserting charts may skip this section.

    III. Adjust Prompt Style

Take floating chart-column chart as an example.

Double-click the chart, and select [Style] > [Prompt] on the right to perform prompt style adjustment. Check the [Use Prompt], and you can see that there are five settings for the Chart Prompt, namely: Content, Style, Border, Background and Display Strategy. Adjustments made to the style can be seen in real time in the floating chart effect on the left. As shown in the following diagram:

The style, border and background of the prompt are set in the same way as Chart Legend. The two settings, content and display strategy, will be introduced in detail below.

    1. Content

You can set the text content of the prompt here. Settings available include [General] and [Custom].

    • General: You can set or not to display fields such as category name, series name, value and percentage, and the corresponding label formats (general, number, currency, percentage, etc.) by setting the label.

      • Category name: When checked, the label will display the category name.

      • Series name: When checked, the label displays the series name.

      • Value: When checked, the label displays the data value.

      • Percentage: When checked, the label will display data value in percentage.

For example, we check [Series_Name] and [value], and set the format of [Value] to currency format.

    2. Display Strategy

Here you can set the interactive mode of prompts. There are two settings in total, namely [Prompt Box Settings] and [Display All Series Settings].

    • Prompt box setting: You can set [Follow the Mouse] or [Do Not Follow the Mouse]. The default is “Do not follow the mouse”.

      • Follow the mouse: The position of the data point prompt is not fixed, and moves with the mouse.

      • Do not follow the mouse: the data point prompt box appears at the top right of the column (the top of the prompt box is aligned with the top of the column), and its position is fixed.

    • Display all series settings: They can be highlighted together, and prompt information of all series under this category can be displayed.

For example, we check the contents as category name, series name and value, and check [Show All Series].
