Page Settings

  • I. Overview

    1) The page setting can control the style of each page of the report when it is printed/exported.

    2) The page setting is for the current sheet, different sheets of the same report, the page setting can be different.

    2) Page settings only take effect in the pagination preview.

    II. Steps

    1. Select [Template] > [Page Setup]


    2. Orientation

    The orientation of paper

    Default: Portrait

    Select [Portrait] as orientation, preview and click Print. The paper is portrait.

    Select [Landscape] as orientation. Preview and click Print. The paper is in landscape format.


    3. Page margins

    1) The distances between report content and the edges of a printed/exported report, in mm.

    2) Top and bottom margins are by default 6.85mm while left and right margins 19.05mm.


    4. Test the effect of page margins by adding report background

    1) Open an in-built report.

    2) Select Template > Report Background and select gray as the background color.

    3) Page break preview and click [Print]. The range of the background indicates the range of report content and the distances between report content and the edges of the paper indicate page margins.


    5. Set paper size

    1) Select an appropriate paper size from predefined sizes or customize the paper size. The default is A4.

    2) The customized paper size is in mm or inch. The default is mm.

    3) Dotted lines on the designer mark the boundaries of the paper.


    6. Header and footer height

    See detailed settings for header and footer, please see Header and Footer.


    7. Set page order

    1)Select Other to set page order.

    2)Select Down, then over. In the preview, if the content in both portrait and landscape orientation does not fit on a page, then the page below will be displayed first.

    3)Select Over, then down. In the preview, if the content in both portrait and landscape orientation does not fit on a page, then the page on the right will be displayed first.

    8. Center on Page

    The position of report content on a page. The default is no settings.


    9. Test [Center on Page]

    1)Insert the formula into A1: RANGE(10), and set A1 as vertical expansion.

    2)Uncheck both options.

    3)The print effect when checking Horizontally.

    4)The print effect when checking Vertically Center.

    5)The print effect when checking both Horizontally and Vertically Center.


    10. Starting page number

    This is used to control the initial value of the parameter $$page_number, which is by default 1.


    11. Test [Starting Page Number]

    1)Input the text in B2: Page Number:

    2)Insert the formula intoC2: $$page_number + "/" + $$totalPage_number, to display the page number.

    3)Insert the formula into B4: RANGE(100), and set B4 as vertical expansion.

    4)If the starting page number is set as 1, then the actual page number is 1 and Page 1 is displayed.

    5)If the starting page number is 2, the actual page number is 1 and Page 2 is displayed.


    12. Automatically adjust according to cell content

    1)If cell content does not fit on a cell, the way of automatically adjusting the size of cells can be controlled.

    2)The settings apply to all cells of a report.


    13. Test [Automatically adjust according to cell content]

    1)Input a long paragraph in each of cells B2~B4.

    2)Select Row Height. In the preview, the row height will be adjusted first.

    3)Select Column Width. In the preview, column width will be adjusted first.

    4)Select No. In the preview, the size of cells will remain unchanged.
