Function Description
The Local Video component can display three types of video, including built-in videos, custom videos, and online videos.
Built-in video: You can choose the built-in short videos.
Custom video: You can upload your local videos, which support only four video formats, including WebM, MP4, MOV, and Ogg.
Online video: You can use online videos by calling their absolute addresses, which only supports four video formats, including WebM, MP4, MOV, and Ogg.
This document introduces only the unique functions of the local video component.
The local video component does not support FVS component interaction attribute.
Notes
1. If Auto Play is ticked and Initial Volume is set to non-zero value for the video component in the first page of the template, you still need to manually click the component to play the video during preview due to restrictions in Google Chrome.
2. If Auto Play is unticked, you must tick Show Video Toolbar, otherwise the video cannot be manually/automatically played during preview.
Adding a Component
Create an FineVis visualization dashboard.
Add a Local Video component to the page. Then the default message is displayed in the component, saying "Select videos from the right panel".
Built-in Video
The FVS template includes some built-in video materials.
Select a local video component, click Content, select My Resource as the video type, and click Choose.
You can choose the desired video as needed and click Finish. Then the video is configured successfully.
Custom Video
You can upload your local material videos to the template for use.
Uploading Videos
Select Custom Upload, click Choose, and click + Upload Video to upload the required local video file. Batch uploading of multiple selected videos is supported in the plugin of V1.17.1 and later versions.
Supported video file formats for upload include WebM, MP4, MOV, and Ogg.
Selecting a Video
The uploaded video materials can be used in any video component of this FVS template.
Select Custom Upload, click Choose, select a video, and click Finish. Then the video is used in the template successfully.
Deleting a Video
Click Choose and hover your cursor over a video. Then appears in the upper right corner of the video.
Click , and a prompt box pops up saying "Deleting this material will affect all components that use this material. Are you sure to delete it?" Click Confirm to delete the custom material.
If a video component uses deleted video materials, that component is empty during preview.
Notes
There is no size limit for uploaded videos. However, large video files may cause preview lag and other problems due to insufficient browser cache size. If obvious lag occurs, you are advised to compress the video or modify the browser cache limit.
Follow the steps to modify the maximum cache limit of Chrome: Open Registry Editor, create a new key Google\Chrome under the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies, create a new item DiskCacheSize, and set its value to 77359400. Save the setting and restart the computer for the setting to take effect.
Online Video
Online videos can be called in the FVS local video component. Ensure that the server can access the entered video address. The called video source file supports only WebM, MP4, MOV, and Ogg formats.
Select a local video component, click Content, select Online Video as the video type, and enter the video address to call the video material.
Relative addresses of videos are not supported. Only absolute addresses are supported, such as https://src.fanruan.com/web/fr/video/finereportvideo.mp4.
If the entered video address is incorrect, such as a webpage address entered directly, a prompt message is displayed during the component preview as shown in the following figure.
If the original file format of the online video is not WebM, MP4, MOV, or Ogg, or if a network problem occurs, a prompt message is displayed during the component preview as shown in the following figure.
Setting Video Attribute
Video attributes can be set in built-in videos, custom videos, and online videos.
Filling Mode
The following table describes three supported video display modes.
Video Filling Mode | Explanation |

The hue range is from 0 to 360.
