Designer Display Problem in Windows with High DPI Settings

Problem

1. When your computer has a high resolution, for example, 2376 x 1824, the font displayed on the FineReport designer page becomes smaller at a blurred designer resolution, disrupting your experience.

2. After you update the designer, the font displayed on the designer menu becomes smaller, and texts of the menu buttons cannot be displayed normally.

3. After you extend your display screen, the designer page is displayed abnormally, and the font size needs to be adjusted.

4. When you open the designer with HD equipment, the font displayed on the designer page is too small, which needs to be adjusted.

Solution

You need to adjust the designer compatibility to resize the font displayed on the designer page.

Note:

FanRuan has developed the designer of a new version based on JDK 11, which is a great solution to the designer display problem in Windows with high DPI settings.

Take Windows 10 as an example. Right-click the FineReport Designer icon on the desktop, choose Properties > Compatibility > Change settings for all users > Change high DPI settings, select Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by:, and select System from the drop-down list.

Note:

If the problem still exists after you select System, select System (Enhanced) instead.

Finally, click OK and restart the designer.

Problem

When you select System or System (Enhanced), the color picker may not work, as shown in the following figure.

Solution

FanRuan has developed the designer of a new version based on JDK 11. You can use the designer with built-in JDK 11.
