Hello! Thank you for your continued support of FanRuan.
To continuously enhance the product experience and provide more competitive data visualization products, after prudent evaluation, FanRuan will officially discontinue the FRM report function and implement significant adjustments to the function entry from FineReport V11.5.1. The following shows the details.
1. The FRM report function is no longer iterated and the corresponding creation entry is hidden.
As one of the FineReport data visualization tools, the FRM report has delivered service for numerous customers over the years. However, the technology stack the FRM report relies on has become relatively outdated. Despite several historical optimization attempts (such as adaptation and component reuse), some optimizations have consistently failed to deliver the expected optimal results subject to the underlying technical framework. Consequently, persistent usability issues reported by users remain unresolved.
Based on this, FanRuan carefully decides to fully discontinue the FRM report function in version 11.5.1 and hide the FRM template creation entry in the designer. This implies:
If you download the designer of 11.5.1 or later versions or update the designer to 11.5.1 or later versions, you will no longer be able to create FRM templates.
All historically created FRM templates will not be affected and can be continuously previewed, edited, and modified. In addition, FanRuan will continue to fix bugs (if any) to ensure your normal use.
2. If you have development requirements for data visualization applications, you are advised to switch to FineVis (FVS) for development as soon as possible.
FVS is a next-generation data visualization designer based on modern web stacks. FVS adopts a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) development model and allows a more intuitive and efficient template configuration, significantly reducing the user learning and operational costs.
Furthermore, FVS has a cutting-edge adaptive feature and provides extensive reusable resources (including templates, components, and UI materials), helping you create visualization dashboards for multi-terminal adaptation efficiently.
For details about more product advantages, see FineVis Data Visualization Overview.
For details about FVS learning materials, operation guides, and best practices, see Learning Path of FVS.
FanRuan provides a tool to convert FRM reports to FVS dashboards.
