Background
In the FVS large-screen editing mode plug-in, the 3D city component and the custom model component both support uploading glb model files to add model objects.
However, after adding the model, there may be phenomena such as freezes and crashes. In this case, you can refer to the content of this article to optimize the model.
The concept of grid number
The grid number, also the Mesh number, refers to the number of independent grids in a glb model file. If the number of meshes is large, it may affect the performance of products using this model.
For 3D software for making models, it can be considered as the "number of objects". The more independent objects in the file, the more meshes in the exported glb file.
However, in 3D software, the number of meshes can be reduced by merging objects, thereby reducing the performance impact of the model on the product.
The impact of too many grids
When making FVS large-screen templates, if the number of uploaded model meshes is large, the rendering will freeze , which will affect the performance of the template.
Common situations are as follows:
1) After uploading the model and adding it to the model editing interface, there is a relatively obvious lag.
2) After uploading the model, there is no obvious lag when used alone, but it is found to be obviously stuck when several models are copied and used together.
3) Some models that look complex do not appear to be stuck when used, but some models that look simple appear to be stuck when used.
4) When uploading the model, the following pop-up window appears:
the number of grids in the exported glb file by merging objects in the 3D software , and then upload it again.
