Functions
FanRuan products have constantly been updated and iterated to meet customers' new needs and improve some functions of earlier versions. FineReport 11.0 Designer provides a one-click update function for the JAR package, making the update more convenient.
1. The Update&Upgrade function is not supported in remote design mode.
2. The Update&Upgrade function is not supported when the designer host cannot connect to the internet. In this case, information of new version JAR package is not displayed in the pop-up window. For details about manual updates, see A Guide to Updating the Minor Version.
Update
Open the designer, choose Help > Update&Upgrade in the menu bar, the current JAR version number and the latest JAR version number are displayed in the pop-up window. You can click the View Update hyperlink to view the updated functions, version number and date for each update.
There is an Update button if a new version is available. The button cannot be clicked if the current JAR package is already the latest one.
Click the Update button. A pop-up window prompts you to save important information, as shown in the following figure.
During update of the designer, there may be a delay of a few seconds because the content of the JAR package need to be compared and parsed as shown in the following figure.
During update, the downloading progress of the JAR package is displayed, as shown in the following figure.
After the JAR package is updated, the designer automatically restarts immediately. After restart, the message "Already Latest Version" is displayed on the right of Latest JAR.
Restoring a Previous Version
After the update, the Restore Version button appears on the page. Click the button if you want to restore the current JAR package to a previous version.
Click OK, and choose whether to Restart Later or Restart Now in the pop-up box.
If you select Restart Now, version rollback starts immediately.
If you select Restart Later, version rollback will start when the designer restart, where the JAR package will be replaced with an earlier version, as shown in the following figure.
After rollback, the designer is restored to the previous version.
