Proportion Introduction

This document introduces how to calculate the proportion in different scenarios.

• Calculate proportion in Indicators: Calculate the percentage of a single value in the total value in Indicators.

• Calculate proportion within a group in Indicators: Calculate the percentage of a single value in the total value of a group. For example, for Purchase Contract, calculating the percentage of Contract Volume in 2013 in the total volume.

You want to count the number and calculate the proportion of a certain text/date field, but the fields are not numerical values and cannot be calculated in the same way as above. You need to convert the dimension fields into indicator fields before calculating the proportion.

• Calculate the horizontal proportion (within a group) of dimensions: For example, calculate the proportion of the number of fashion stores belonging to self-owned store to the number of self-owned stores.

For example, you do not want to calculate the vertical proportion but instead the horizontal proportion of an indicator as shown in the following figure.

• Proportion of fashion store: 32.81% = 19287376 / (19287376 + 39495388)

• Proportion of department store: 67.19% = 39495388 / (19287376 + 39495388)
