KPI Indicator Card of the Same/Previous Period Ratio

Application Scenario

In actual businesses, you may often need to monitor various important indicators in real time, such as the number of visits and visitors to some websites, and the number of visits to and the sales volume of some online stores.

This document introduces how to create KPI indicator cards to help you view the same/previous period ratio and data changes.

You can create different KPI indicator cards for comparison, as shown in the following figure.

Implementation Method

Use KPI indicator cards and the Custom Comparison with Same/Previous Period function to achieve the effect.

Detailed Filtering for Yesterday's Sales

Create an analysis subject and upload the data table, as shown in the following figure.

Create a component, copy the Count field, and name the field Sales(Yesterday), as shown in the following figure.

Perform detailed filtering for the Sales(Yesterday) field to get corresponding data. 

Set the parameter of Dynamic Time, and you can open it at any time and get yesterday's data.

KPI Card Creation

This section takes the KPI indicator card Sales(Yesterday) as an example to explain how to create a KPI card.

Click the KPI Indicator Card icon in Chart Type and drag the Sales(Yesterday) field into Text, as shown in the following figure.

In this way, the indicator card displays the sales of yesterday.

Copy the Count field twice and drag the copied fields into Text.

Custom Previous Period Ratio

Calculate the previous period ratio of the sales of yesterday to that of the day before yesterday.

Click the icon  of the Count1 field and choose Quick Calculation ＞Comparison with Same Period/Comparison with Previous Period＞Custom Comparison with Same/Previous Period, as shown in the following figure.

Set Calculation Type to Growth Rate. Click the icon of Selected Time, select Dynamic Time, tick Day, and set the parameter to 1 Day Before, and click OK. Repeat the same steps for Comparison Time but set the parameter to 2 Day Before, as shown in the following figure.

Set the display name of the Count1 field to MoM Ratio, as shown in the following figure.

Custom Same Period Ratio

Calculate the same period ratio of the sales of yesterday to that of the same day last month.

Click the icon of the Count2 field and choose Quick Calculation ＞ Comparison with Same Period/Comparison with Previous Period ＞ Custom Comparison with Same/Previous Period, as shown in the following figure.

Set Calculation Type to Growth Rate and set the parameters of Dynamic Time to compare with last month's data, as shown in the following figure.

Set the display name of the Count2 field to YoY Ratio (the same as the steps for Custom Previous Period Ratio).

Text Setting

After the key indicators are created, you need to improve the display of the indicator card.

You can set the parameters of Text, as shown in the following figure.

You can add texts and set the format of the text. For example, you can set the previous period ratio value to display in yellow, as shown in the following figure.

A KPI indicator card is completed, and you can use the same method to create other cards.
