    Application Scenario

Improper operations by some FineBI users may disrupt other users or degrade system performance, and such risks need to be mitigated.

FineBI provides data volume limits on the data editing page of analysis subjects to avoid such issues, ensuring the normal use of FineBI.

    Function Entry

You can set the number of records for calculation when editing data in an analysis subject, as shown in the following figure.

    Function Description

    Data Volume Limit Tier

Data volume for calculation can be configured in the editing mode of an analysis subject. The following table shows the available rows for data calculation corresponding to different data volume settings.

    Option

    Data Volume for a Dataset

    Data Volume for a Component/Dashboard

    10000,000 Rows

    • Unupdated subject: 10,000,000 Rows

    • Updated subject: Full Volume

Data Volume Limit for the Source Table

The source tables of all resources in the subject are only affected by the data volume limit of the current subject (no longer affected by the update status of parent tables to avoid data unavailability).

The row count of source tables for datasets is limited. For example, dataset A contains source tables B and C.

    • For direct connection datasets, the data volume of B and C is fixed as the full volume.

    • For extracted datasets, only 100,000 rows or 10,000,000 rows can be switched for data volume.

    Notes

Starting from FineBI V6.0.8, if the source table (parent table) of the editing data has not been extracted, the switching option will be grayed out, and only the first 100,000 rows of data will be used for calculation, as shown in the following figure.

The following content shows the scenarios where the source table is not extracted:

    1. The source table is a non-simplest table that is currently not extracted.

    2. The source table is the simplest table that is never extracted. The simplest table must be a published and non-Excel-uploaded self-service dataset and meet the following two conditions:

    • No associations established

    • Tables only involving a table selection step or a table selection step with a non-field-type-conversion field setting step
