    Syntax

    ABS(Number)

    Returns the absolute value of the specified number. The value is always non-negative.

    Parameter

    Number

    Any real number whose absolute value needs to be obtained.

    Notes

    The function supports only one numerical parameter and will be illegal if more than one numerical parameters are set.

    Example

    Sample data: Stock Trading Data.xlsx

    1. For example, when calculating the difference between the quantities of purchased shares and sold shares using sample data, you need to obtain the absolute value of the difference.

    Click Formula Column, set Name of the Added Formula Column to Absolute Value, enter ABS(Difference), and click OK, as shown in the following figure.
