The component title is static by default. To make the chart easier to understand, you can set dynamic titles to make the title change along with the data changes., thus quickly displaying key information and improving communication efficiency.
There are two types of dynamic title changes based on whether indicators are added.
Not add
Directly edit the component title
to achieve the effect.
More convenient. If you do not need to
add indicators in the title, this method is preferred.
Add
Hide the component title first and then use a text component to replace the title.
You can add filter component values
from the dashboard and add the fields
from the component in the title. (including indicator and dimension fields).
Introduce how to make dynamic titles without adding indicators in the title.
For example, when you click Purchase Contract in the Word Cloud component and select the time period of Year Month Interval Filter Component as 2016/01- 2016/12, the title of the line chart automatically changes to Purchase Contract 2017-01 to 2017-05 Contract Amount Trend.
How to make dynamic titles when you add indicators in component titles?
After the component is created, edit the target component title, and add dimension fields and filter component values from the dashboard to establish linkage. After clicking the dashboard interface to generate linkage or adding filter conditions, the title changes accordingly, thus achieving dynamic title effect.
After the component is created, hide the target component title first, and use a text component to replace the title. Then add any field or control such as indicators from the dashboard in the title, click the relevant field or enter the control value, and the title will change accordingly to create a linkage effect.
Note:The supported fields include the fields in the current dashboard component and the filtering components added to the current dashboard.
Example data: Contract Information.xlsx
Create an analysis subject and upload the downloaded data table Contract Information.
Go to the component editing interface, drag the Time of Contract and Contract Amount fields in the area for analysis to the horizontal and vertical axes, and select Partitioned Line Chart as Chart Type to create a line chart.
Add another component in the analysis subject, and select the data table Contract Information.
Drag Contract Type and Counter to Dimensions and Indicators, and select Word Cloud as Chart Type.
After the Word Cloud component is completed, create a dashboard.
Drag the two created components into the dashboard.
Add a Year Month Interval Filter Component in Time Filter Component to filter the line chart component of the dashboard.
1. Click Filter Component > Year Month Interval to add a Year Month Interval Filter Component.
2. Drag Time of Contract field under Contract Information into Field, and click OK to create the filter component successfully.
1. Select the line chart component, double-click the component title to go to the title editing interface, and set the dynamic title.
2. Add fields in the title.
Click Custom > Insert Field > Component 1 > Contract Type to successfully add the Contract Type field in the title content, and add the Year Month Interval filter component value.
Enter custom text after the Contract Type field and the Year Month Interval filter component.
3. Select the title, edit the title style, and click OK to complete the title setting.
For details about the effect of dynamic titles, see section “Application scenarios: Scenario One: Dynamic Titles Without added indicators”.
Example data: Sales Objective Analysis.xlsx
Create an analysis subject and upload the downloaded data table Sales Objective Analysis.
Calculate the actual sales completion rate.
1. Go to the component editing interface and add a calculation indicator.
2. Add the Sales Objective Completion Rate indicator.
Enter the formula SUM_AGG(Sales)/SUM_AGG(Sales Objective) to obtain the Sales Objective Completion Rate indicator, enter the name of the calculation indicator field, and click OK.
Formula Description:
SUM_AGG(Sales)/SUM_AGG(Sales Objective): This example represents grouping and summing Sales and Sales Objective by the Product dimension, and calculating the ratio of Sales to Sales Objective.
SUM_AGG: Return the sum value of the indicator field according to the current analysis dimension. The result generated is a data column with the same number of rows as that of current analysis dimension.
Note:You need to select the formula content of the SUM_AGG() aggregate function from the left fields to make it take effect. This example adds the fields Sales and Sales Objective.
Select Group Table, and drag fields (in the area for analysis) into Dimensions and Indicators respectively.
The corresponding dragged fields are shown in the following figure.
Set Sales Objective Completion Rate to display values in a percentage form.
1. Click Sales Objective Completion Rate (Aggregation) > > Numeric Format to set the display format for this field.
2. Set Percentage as Numeric Format of Sales Objective Completion Rate with 2 decimal places, and click OK to complete the setting.
3. The values of Sales Objective Completion Rate are displayed in percentage form.
Since the component title cannot add indicators, the title needs to be hidden first and a text component added to replace the title position.
1. Create a dashboard and add components to the dashboard.
Select the component, click , and untick Show Title to hide the title.
Edit the content and artistic effects of the desired display in the text component.
Click Others > Text Component to add a text component.
Click the text component and add content.
Click , add the text field Product and the calculation indicator field Sales Objective Completion Rate (Aggregation) in order, and the two fields are displayed in the text component after successful addition.
Place the cursor between two fields and enter the text.
Select the text and edit the text component style.
Select 20 as the font size, bold, yellow as the background color, and adjust the position and size.
To make the title displayed as Notebook by default when viewing the dashboard, you need to click Notebook in the editing interface to generate the linkage effect.
Then click the dashboard preview, and the default value in preview state becomes Notebook — Sales Objective Completion Rate —95.85%.
The effect of quoting indicators in the title can be seen in section “Scenario Two: Dynamic Title with Added indicators” in the application scenarios of this document.
