1.3 Function introduction

After assigning permissions to the business staff, the business staff can create a self-service data set and reprocess the original data according to business needs.

The reprocessing operations include: selecting fields, filtering, grouping and summarizing, adding columns, field settings, sorting, merging left and right, and merging up and down. As shown below:

Salesperson/Data Analysis

Before logging in to your hanwen account, make sure that you have completed the data connection and permission assignment operations according to the Quick Start for Data Preparation and Quick Start for Permission Assignment.

2.1 Create a self-service dataset

1) Log in to the hanwen account of the salesperson in the sales department, select Data Preparation>my self-service dataset>hanwen business package, as shown in the figure below:

2) Click the Add Table>Self-Service Dataset button, as shown in the figure below:

2.2 Select field

1) Enter the self-service dataset editing interface, name the self-service dataset "Commodity Sales Summary Table", and choose to add the store name, province, and city fields in the "Store Information Dimension Table", as shown in the following figure:

Note 1: If the data preview fails, please return to the administrator account and replace the URL of the data link with:

jdbc:mysql://solutions.finebi.com:3306/finebi? useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=UTF-8 

Note 2: If one of the three tables cannot be selected, please refer to section 2.6 of the Quick Start for Data Preparation to update the data. If you still cannot choose, please check the Quick Start for Data Preparation to check whether the relationship is established correctly.

2) Add the cost amount, quantity, sales, document code, and date fields in the "Commodity sales schedule", as shown in the following figure:

3) Add the commodity category and commodity name fields in the "Commodity information dimension table", as shown in the following figure:

2.3.1 Introduction to data processing functions

After selecting the fields, you can perform some data processing on the self-service data set. Click "+" to see the function of self-service dataset data processing, as shown in the figure below:

2.3.2 Add "Gross Profit"column

1) Because you need to calculate the gross profit for data analysis, select the new column, as shown in the following figure:

2) Name the new column "Gross Profit", enter the calculation formula sales-cost amount, as shown in the figure below:

Note: The fields in the formula need to be input by clicking on the field, and manual input is invalid.

3) Click OK, the effect is as shown in the figure below, and click Save in the upper right corner.

2.4 Data preview

After saving the self-service dataset, you can see the newly created "Commodity Sales Summary Table" dataset under "hanwen's business package", as shown in the following figure:
