Report Background

Function Description

During general report or aggregation report creation, you often need to set a background for the template. In this case, you can set the color, texture, pattern, gradient color, and image for the report background under Template > Report Background. During template creation for overlay printing, you can set the overlay background as the report background, thereby ensuring the precise location of data. In most cases, you can also use the report background to add watermarks to the report.

Notes

1. When a report is exported as an Excel file, the report background cannot be exported.

2. When a report is exported as a Word file, only the color background can be exported, while the image background is not supported for export.

3. When a report is exported as a PDF file, all kinds of backgrounds can be exported.

The report background is set to Theme by default on the report background setting page. For details about the template background setting, see Template Theme Management.

When Custom is selected, you can set the background fill to No Background, Color, Image, Gradient Color, Texture, or Pattern, as shown in the following figure.

Image

When Fill is set to Image, you can click Select Image, select an image, and set the image adaptation method.

Default Image: The original image is displayed. If the size of the original image is larger than that of the component, the image will be displayed from the upper left corner, and the excess part will be truncated without being displayed.

Titled Image: The image is repeated to fill the entire component.

Extend Image: The image can be automatically resized to fit the width and height of the component. If the image is smaller than the component, the image will be stretched to fill the component. Otherwise, the image will be compressed to fit within the component.

Adjust Image: The image can be automatically resized to fit the size of the component while maintaining its original aspect ratio.

Note:

Currently, you can select only static images as report backgrounds.

Color

When Fill is set to Color, the following figure shows the effect.

Gradient Color

When Fill is set to Gradient Color, you can click the color bars on the left and right of the gradient color to change the color. You can drag the two color bars to control the range of the gradient color. You can also set Gradient Direction to Horizontal or Vertical, as shown in the following figure.

Texture

When Fill is set to Texture, the following figure shows the effect.

Pattern

When Fill is set to Pattern, you can set the font color and background color of the pattern. The following figure shows the effect.

You can preview the template background in a browser. If you want the same effect for printing and exporting, you can tick Export Background and Print Background in the report background setting, as shown in the following figure.

Report Background refers to the background within the specified report size, while Browser Background refers to the background of the browser during template preview on the browser, as shown in the following figure.

1. Set only the report background to green and the browser background to no background.

2. Set the report background to no background and the browser background to green.

3. Set the report background to red and the browser background to green.
