New widget styles are applied to new version dashboards.

Application Scenarios

Dashboard widgets can be added to both the parameter pane and the report body.

Widgets in dashboards are the same as those in general reports. For details, see Widget Introduction.

Widgets provided by plugins will also be displayed in Widget on the top if applicable.

Notes

Self-Adaption of Widget Font

The unit of all fonts in FineReport 11.0 widgets is pt. The font size is self-adaptive to the template zooming in and out when you preview.

However, because the default fonts of widgets are inconsistent, some text cannot be fully displayed. To solve this problem, FineReport 11.0.10 optimized widgets:

1. Font size of all widget defaults to 9pt (consistent with the default font size of the report block).

2. In the date widget, the font of the drop-down panel is no longer self-adaptive to avoid exceeding the display area.

Linkage not Applicable to the Value Function

In a dashboard, use a widget to set the input value of a parameter. Use the value function to obtain the parameter value in other widgets, report blocks, and chart blocks.

When the input value of the parameter changes, the obtained value will not change accordingly. There is no linkage effect.

Linkage not Applicable to Rich Text

If only rich text is set parameter to link with widgets, the linkage will not take effect.

For example, rich text is inserted in to cell B1, and the rich text has been set a parameter to link with the drop-down box.

When you expand the drop-down panel during preview, the linkage will not take effect.

However, if there are other elements in the report block that can be linked with widgets, the linkage of rich text will take effect.

For example:

  • Insert rich text into cell B1, and set parameters to link with the drop-down box widget.

  • Insert the Employee Name field of the ds1 dataset into cell B2. Because there are parameters in ds1, cell B2 can also link with widgets.

When you expand the drop-down panel during preview, the linkage takes effect on both the rich text cell and the general cell.
