There are three methods to perform table filtering. This document only explains the notes for table filtering. For details, see Dashboard Filter Introduction.

Detail filter

You can see the differences between these three filtering methods by referring to Dashboard Filter Introduction.
For more details, see Analysis Area Filter.
If you have updated V5.1.14, when you select In or Not In from the drop-down list, you can enter search terms to search for the strings you need (space included), as shown in the following figure.
Of course, you can search for the strings through fuzzy search, as shown in the following figure.
1. If you choose a text field, the N maximum values arranged according to ASCII codes are the top N values arranged according to their ASCII codes. If you choose a date field, the N maximum ASCII values are the N values whose dates are the latest.
2. If you choose Custom Value List as the text filter component, you should set some values from the drop-down list.
The detail table performs detail filtering for dimension fields and indicator fields. You can select Filter Detail from the drop-down list of the fields in the area to be analyzed or the analysis area, as shown in the following figure.
1. You cannot perform result filtering with a detail table.
2. If you perform result filtering with a date field which is direct-connected data, and the date format is among Year, Quarter, Month, Week, Week Quantity, Day, Hour(s), Minute(s), and Second, the filter conditions can be set as: In, Not In, Contain, Not Contain, Null, Not Null, Begin With, End With, Not Begin With, Not End With, Top N, or Last N. Otherwise, the filter condition can only be In, Not In, Null, Not Null, Top N, or Last N.
For more details, see Result Filter.
In Direct-Connection V5.1.14, FineBI has optimized the calculated filter values to optimize dashboard performance, reduce memory pressure, and improve user experience.
1. If you perform an analysis area filter, header filter, or result filter, indicator fields that use Quick Calculation or the quick calculation function will not be displayed.
For example, the following table uses the quick calculation and quick calculation function.
When you perform a filter for Product category, you cannot select Actua-Net Profit nor Count that uses quick calculation or the quick calculation functions, as shown in the figure below.
2. If an indicator field (including regular indicator, aggregate indicator, non-aggregate indicator, and record) has used Quick Calculation and performed a filter (not detail filter), the filtered data will not affect the total data display of other indicator fields in the analysis area, as shown in the figure below.
Meanwhile, if you set filter conditions for indicators that use the quick calculation functions, the data of indicators that use Quick Calculation will not be influenced.
