    Application Scenario

When creating a dashboard, you may want to display the lower-level content of the drill directory and the calculated results of the lower level.

    Function Description

Component dimension switching is used for pivoting analysis of charts/tables. It allows for quick switching of dimensions in the setting window to switch the analysis dimension of the current component.

The dimension switching effect of the table component is shown in the following figure.

The dimension switching effect of the chart component is shown in the following figure.

Note: All chart components support dimension switching except the Detail Table.

    Dimension Switching of Table Components

This function can be used when you want the provincial and municipal contract data to be displayed in different dimensions based on the contract amount and received payment table for different provinces and cities that you have created.

You can download the example data. Regional Data Analysis.xlsx

Creating a Drill Directory and a Component

The component configuration for dimension switching is the same as that for data drilling. It requires creating a drill directory and adding the dimension fields that need to be switched to the created drill directory. For details about how to create a drill directory, see Creating a Drill Directory.

Create a group table and a drill directory as City, and drag the Contract Amount and Received Payment fields into the Indicator bar, as shown in the following figure.

    Dimension Switching of Chart Components

When viewing data by date dimension, you can use Date Drilling to drill down to the level of year-month-day. If you want to return to the level of year-month after drilling down to year-month-day, Dimension Switching can help you make it.

You can use the Store sales statistics table on the demo platform.

Creating a Drill Directory and a Component

Similarly, you need to create a drill directory and a chart first. For details, see Date Drilling.
