Application Scenarios
FineBI supports analyzing local Excel tables.
Functions
You can click My Analysis > New subject, and enter the Data interface to upload Excel files.
Preparations
1. Confirming the File Type
You can upload CSV, XLS and XLSX files. For details, see Supported Field Types for Importing Excel.
Notes:
1. XLS and XLSX files of version 2003 and version 2007 can be uploaded, but XLS files saved as Excel 5.0/95 cannot be uploaded.
2. Encrypted Excel files cannot be uploaded.
2. Disabling File Upload Verification
You need to go to Manage >Security >Security and disable File Upload Verification before uploading a CSV file.
3. No Merged Cells in the First Row of Excel
Before uploading, it is necessary to confirm that the first row of the Excel table do not have merged cells, otherwise the upload will fail.
4. No Functions
The uploaded Excel file should not contain functions like vlookup and sumifs.
Procedure
Adding Excel Data
1. Click New Subject. Enter the Select Data interface. Click Local Excel. You can click Upload Data or drag the file to the interface.
Selecting Excel Table
1. Click Upload Data, select the local Excel file, and click Open.
2. Select the table as needed, and you can edit the table name. Click OK, and the table is uploaded successfully.
Data Preview
Enter the data editing interface.
Exit and you can preview the data.
Data Update
In the data editing interface, click Update Excel.
You can click Append Data and Replace Data to achieve corresponding effects. For details about procedures and rules, see Update Excel.
Batch Uploading Data
You can choose to upload multiple Excel tables. You can use the Ctrl key, the Shift key, or the mouse to select multiple tables.
Note: You can select no more than 100 Excel files, and the number of sheets in each Excel file cannot exceed 255.
After the batch table selection, you can choose to upload data from multiple sheets. Data from multiple sheets in an Excel file will be uploaded as multiple tables to FineBI.
Data Merging
After adjusting the field types of all tables, click OK.
If the selected tables' field names, types and orders are completely identical, a prompt will be given: The fields in the data table are consistent, whether they are merged into one table.
