Sharing Analysis

  • Last update:  2023-03-29
  • Overview

FineBI supports sharing the content of the analysis subject to other users.

FineBI supports multiple forms of sharing, which can meet your different needs.

    • Collaboration: You can share the entire analysis subject and know how the analysis results are obtained step by step through the collaboration function. It also allows multiple users to collaboratively edit the analysis subject.

    • Publishing: You can publish the dashboard to the directory and publish personal data to public data for other enterprise users to view. The content in the dashboard is relatively fixed, suitable for enterprise leaders and teams to view in the long term.

    • Public Link: You can view the public link without logging into FineBI. It is more flexible and suitable for small groups to view.

    Collaboration

If you want to share the analysis subject to other users, you can set using and editing permissions for them.

    Description

    Scenario

    Use

View all data, components, and dashboards in the analysis subject.

You want to know how others make analysis and hope to see the process.

    Edit

View and edit all data, components, and dashboards in the analysis subject.

You hope that other users can also collaboratively edit the analysis subject during the production process.

For example, you can share the created analysis subject to demo users for viewing and collaboratively editing.

Click Collaboration > Add Collaborator and tick both the use and edit boxes in demo(demo) under All user to add permissions.

Login as demo user to find the collaborated subject in My Analysis > Collaborated to me and edit it.

    For details, see Collaboration.

    Applying for Publishing

FineBI allows publishing dashboards and data.

    • Dashboard: You can share the dashboard to the directory for other enterprise users to view it in the long term.

    • Data: You can share the data to public data to allow other enterprise users to view and analyze.

Publishing the Dashboard to a Directory

For example, you can publish the dashboard to the directory and allow the demo user with directory permissions to view it.

Click Dashboard > Apply for publication to set Publication Node.

When the demo users view the directory, they can see the dashboard shared by the admin.

The subject creator admin, with superuser privileges, can directly publish the dashboard to the directory.

If you are a common user, you need to be approved by the admin in Manage > Publication Management before publishing.

For details, see Publishing a Dashboard.

Publishing the Data to Public Data

Data edited under the analysis subject can be published to Public Data for other users to use.

    For details, see Analyzing Data.

    Sharing Public Link

It is more flexible to use public links to share. You can share the dashboard to FineBI personnel or a few people to view.

For example, click Public Link, select Open in Share Link, and then click Copy Link to share the created dashboard.

Other users can view the dashboard by opening the link address locally.

Note: The example uses FineBI downloaded to the local computer. You can access it by opening the link address locally. Without configuring the demo environment, FineBI in the local computer cannot be accessed through the external network.

The way to open the link on mobile is shown as follows:

You can set unique dashboard layout on mobile.

    For details, see Mobile Layout.

The example uses FineBI downloaded to the local computer. If you want to access the link on mobile, you need to take the two steps below:

    1. Modify the link by changing localhost to your own computer’s IP address.

    2. Access the link by connecting to the hotspot of the local computer. (ensuring that your phone and PC are in the same network environment)
