Data Connection to GBase 8T

Application Scenario

This document introduces how to connect to the Gbase 8T data source.

Note:

This database does not support data tables with direct connection attributes.

Version and Driver

Download the driver package and upload it to FineBI. For details, see section "Uploading the Database Driver" in Driver Management.

Connection Information Collection

Before connecting to the database, you need to collect the following information:

• IP address and port number of the database server

• Database name

• Username and password of the database

• Schema of the database to be connected

1. Log in to FineBI as the admin, choose System Management > Data Connection > Data Connection Management, and choose Create > Data Connection, as shown in the following figure.

Note:

If you are not the admin, you can configure data connections only after the admin assigns you the permission on data connection management. For details, see Data Connection Permission Overview.

2. Find the Gbase 8T icon, as shown in the following figure.

3. Set Driver to Custom, select the driver uploaded in section "Version and Driver", and enter the connection information in section "Connection Information Collection", as shown in the following figure.

4. Click Click to Connect Database to test the connection, and select the database schema as needed after successful connection. Finally, click Save, as shown in the following figure.

You can add database tables to FineBI by the following two methods.

• Adding Database Tables

• Adding SQL Datasets

Null values of the Boolean type are not supported in FineBI and will be displayed as false.
