Adding Database Tables

Application Scenario

· You want to add the entire table from the database to Public Data in FineBI.

· Add the server dataset to Public Data in FineBI for use.

1. Go to Public Data and select a folder on which you have management permissions. Choose Add Dataset > Select Database Table, as shown in the following figure.

2. Go to the Database Table Selection page and select the data connection to be used. The tables in that data connection will appear in the right area.

Then select the data table you need and click OK.

Note:

1. The tables that have been added to FineBI will be displayed in an unselectable state. You can hover your cursor over the added tables to view their destinations.

2. You cannot obtain the escape name of the table and the column in the database until you add the table to the public data directory. If you add comments to a table in the database after adding the table and update the table in FineBI again, the escape name will not be retrieved.

3. The directly connected data table can be used immediately after being added, while the extracted data table needs to be updated, as shown in the following figure.

After adding the server dataset to System Management, you can add the server dataset to Public Data through a database table.

Select Server Dataset on the Database Table Selection page. For the subsequent steps, see section "Add Tables of the Database."

No Added Data on the Preview Page

Description

You have added Table A to FineBI. When you add a new field to Table A in the database and update the data in FineBI, the newly added field is not displayed in FineBI.

Solution

1. Select Table A, and click Edit.

2. After selecting the new field, click Save.
