Functions
This article provides different solutions according to different user types in case users forget their password or there is a need to change the user password.

Modifying Password
This section is applicable to scenarios where the user remembers the original password and wants to change it.

User Modification
The user can log into the FineBI system, click the name in the upper right corner, and click Account Settings, as shown in the figure below:
Modify the password according to the prompt, click OK, and then click Complete. The password is successfully modified.
Resetting Password in Database
This method is only applicable to synchronized users.
Open the database file corresponding to the synchronized user's server and dataset, find the account and password of the user, and modify the password, as shown in the figure below:
The administrator logs into the decision-making system, clicks Manage > User > All Users > Synchronize User Management > Sync Now, as shown in the figure below:
At this time, the user can log into the decision-making system with the new password.
Resetting Password
This section is applicable to scenarios where the user does not remember the original password and needs to reset it.

User Modification
If password policy is set, users who forget their password can modify their password through SMS/email when logging in, as shown in the figure below:
Resetting Password in System
The administrator logs into the decision-making system, clicks Manage > User, finds the user, and clicks the edit button, and clicks Generate User Password > Copy PWD > OK, as shown in the figure below.
The user can log into the decision-making system with a randomly generated password. After logging in, click the name in the upper right corner, and then click Account Setting, as shown in the figure below:
Modify the password according to the prompt, click OK, and then click Complete The password is successfully modified.
Modifying Password in Database
This method is only applicable to synchronized users.
Open the database file corresponding to the synchronized user's server and dataset, find the account and password of the user, and modify the password, as shown in the figure below:
The administrator logs into the decision-making system, clicks Manage > User > All Users > Synchronize User Management > Sync Now, as shown in the figure below:
At this time, the user can log into the decision-making system with the new password.
Notes
FineBI has improved the security of password modification operations. Users are asked to enter the old password as verification for updating the password.
1) It is required to enter the correct old password within 5 attempts. If the entered old password is incorrect, it will prompt:
The old password is wrong, it will be locked after entering the wrong 4 times
2) If the entered old password is still incorrect after 5 attempts, it will prompt:
There are too many incorrect passwords, please try again in 15 minutes
The administrator can help users change their passwords referring to section 3.2 in this article, and then users can log in with new passwords.
