I. Overview
Enabling Data Connection in Global Setting allows users to set data connection permissions. In the platform, the Data Connection permissions need to be used along with Manage features, to allow assignment of Use, Manage and Authorize permissions of data connections. This feature also protects databases when connected remotely via the designer.

II. Introduction
1. Enable Data Connection Control in Global Setting
1) Go to Manage -> Permission -> Global Setting. Enable Data Connection Control and click Save.
2) Assign the Use permissions of Data Connection to Dept./Role/User on the right side, empowering them the right to use the connection feature.
Note: please refer to Remote Design for more information about Data Connection permission under remote design mode.
2. Manage and Authorize Permissions of Data Connections
With Hierarchical Authorization enabled in Global Setting, users can assign the Manage (i.e. copy, rename, modify and delete) and Authorize (certain permissions to other users) permissions of a connection in Data Connection.
