I. Overview
1. Version
Designer Version | Extended Chart Plugin Version |
---|---|
10.0 | 4.5 |
2. Application scenarios
When visiting the big screen, there is often such a demand: I hope that before viewing the report page, the company's promotional video or transition animation can be played to improve the overall audiovisual effect and browsing experience of the big screen.
The extended chart plugin version 4.5 adds the "Opening effect" function, which can add an opening video to the decision-making big screen. The effect is shown in the following figure:
3. Functional dependence
To use this function, you need to install the extended chart plugin version 4.5 and later, and you can directly update the version of the existing plugin. The installation steps are detailed in: Plugin Management.
This function only supports dashboard.
Users can use the built-in two kinds of opening effects, or customize them with their own videos.
The opening effect can only be displayed on the Chrome browser on the PC, and not on the mobile.
4. Function entry
After installing or updating the extended chart plugin, the "Opening effect" function is added under the "Template" of the designer of the dashboard. Click and check the "Use opening effect" to set the opening effect. As shown below:
II. Built-in effect example
1. Open the template
Open the built-in template: %FR_HOME%\webapps\webroot\WEB-INF\reportlets\doc-EN\Dashboard\First_Dashboard.frm
Click to download: First_Dashboard.frm
2. Select built-in effect
This function has built-in two kinds of appearance effects, which users can use directly. The overall setting page is shown in the figure below:
3. Set video effect
Here we choose the second type of built-in video. There are two video ratios. The big screen size corresponding to the wide screen is 16:9, and the big screen size corresponding to the ultra-wide screen is 32:9. Here we choose the wide screen.
4. Set opening text
When the built-in video is displayed, there are actually two segments, which are divided into background video and transition video, which are connected before and after, and the transition video plays the role of transition, so that the background video will not be too abrupt when switching to the report page.
Note: In the sample picture of I.2, the part where the earth rotates in the first half is the background video, and the part where the earth suddenly draws in the second half is the transition video.
Setting opening text will be played along with the background video. Once the transition video appears, the opening text will disappear immediately. The text is displayed in the center of the background video, as shown in the figure below:
Here we set the opening text as: FineReport Dashboard, and the text style can be the default, as shown in the following figure:
5. Set background
Due to adaptive reasons, it may happen that the opening video cannot fill the width and height of the browser. At this time, it is necessary to set the background of the opening effect to prevent the body content from leaking out and interfere with the overall effect.
The background supports color and image, and the opacity can be set at the same time. Here we can use the default settings, as shown in the following figure:
6. Set transition
When "Exit opening" is selected "Automatic exit", the background video will be played according to the duration of the "Exit time", and the transition video will automatically start to play after playing.
When "Exit opening" is selected "Click to exit", the background video will stop playing and switch to the transition video only after the mouse is clicked, otherwise the background video will continue to play.
Here we set to "Automatic exit", and the exit time is 3 seconds, as shown in the following figure:
7. Preview effect
Save the dashboard, and click "PC preview" , as shown in the figure below:
Note: Mobile preview is not supported.
III. Custom effect
1. Add video
The custom effect requires the user to provide the opening video, including background video and transition video. Other settings are the same as the built-in effect. The overall setting page is shown in the following figure:
Only the videos in the %FR_HOME%\webapps\webroot\WEB-INF\reportlets\ directory and its sub-files are supported, that is, the video needs to be placed in this path first, as shown in the following figure:
After placing the video, you can manually enter the video path or click the "Choose video path" button to add the video, as shown in the following figure:
Note 1: Background video is a required option, otherwise there will be no opening effect.
Note 2: You can add only the background video without the transition video.
2. Formats support
Currently, only 4 video formats are supported, namely: mp4, mov, webm, and ogg.
In addition to the requirements for the video format, there are also requirements for the video codec. The supported codec types are: vp8, vp9, AV1, Theora, H.264, MPEG-4
To view the type of video codec, please refer to the relevant information yourself.
