Application Scenario

You can use the export function in FineBI when you need to export dashboards to save data and charts for further processing or dashboard generation.

Function Description

FineBI supports the following export methods:

Exporting a dashboard after publishing it to Directory

Exporting a dashboard from the editing or preview page

Exporting a dashboard from the public link preview page

Exporting a Dashboard from Directory

You can export a dashboard after mounting it to Directory. Non-admin users can export dashboards only if administrators enable the Export permission on the corresponding directory in Directory Permission, as shown in the following figure.

Users with the Export permission on a specific directory can export dashboards under the directory nodes, as shown in the following figure.

Exporting a Dashboard via a Public Link

1. You need to enable the Public Link Export Control permission for users to ensure that the public links they share support dashboard export.

2. Users with the Public Link Export Control permission can enable export for a public link by selecting Public Link Export when creating the link, as shown in the following figure.

3. When viewing a dashboard via a public link, users need to click the Export button in the upper-left corner to export the dashboard, as shown in the following figure.

Exporting a Dashboard from the Editing or Preview Page

The following figure shows the function entry.

Note:

If the system displays the message "BI-FrontEnd_Export_Maxmin_Pixels_Tip", the dashboard exceeds the pixel limit. Try shortening the dashboard and exporting it again.

Choose Export > Export PDF, as shown in the following figure.

The exported PDF file only shows the overall effect of the dashboard page. On this page, all components, including charts, are displayed exactly as laid out on the PC version. Meanwhile, the filter conditions applied to the corresponding components are exported as well. That is, the export effect is the same as the corresponding effect you view on the PC.

Click My Analysis to enter the analysis subject editing page. Select an analysis subject and choose Export > Export Excel, as shown in the following figure. An Excel file is generated.

The number of sheets in the generated Excel file depends on the number of components in the dashboard. Sheet names are usually the names of the corresponding components. For example, if the dashboard contains two components, the exported Excel file has three sheets: Component 1, Component 2, and Dashboard Page.

Note:

1. When you export all data as Excel for multi-tab components, each component is exported separately by tab. The export name follows the format: Tab component name - Tab name.

2. You can use the SystemOptimizationConfig.excelExportThreadTimeoutLimit parameter to set the timeout limit for Excel export. For details, see FINE_CONF_ENTITY Visualization Configuration.

1. When table components are exported, the data is displayed in the expanded state with all dimension nodes unfolded. The theme colors and column widths configured for the component are also preserved. Users can further process and summarize the exported Excel data to meet other needs, as shown in the following figure.

For chart components, the aggregated results across all dimensions in the component are exported and saved in a detail-level format, as shown in the following figure.

Dashboard Page

The dashboard page includes the graphical effects of all components, with the layout exactly matching that of the PC. Components are exported from left to right and top to bottom across the entire dashboard page. If filter components are applied to the page, the corresponding filter effects are also reflected in the exported data. In other words, the exported content is consistent with the analysis results currently viewed by the user, as shown in the following figure.

For chart components, the aggregated results across all dimensions in the component are exported in a detail-level format.

Table Export Style

The table is exported according to the default format of the given theme color.

• Theme colors are supported.

• For group tables, cells are merged when the table is in multi-column or tree mode. When displayed as a list, the exported data is consistent with the dashboard, and cells are not merged.

• Cell style settings are not supported for export, including font color and size, added shapes, styles, table row height, and cells formatted as images.

Starting from FineBI V7.0.10, dashboards can be directly exported as HTML files, as shown in the following figure.
