This chapter introduces how to connect to Infromix data source.

Version and Driver

Download the driver package and upload it to FineBI. For details of uploading steps, see Driver Management.

Collecting Connection Information

Before connecting the database, you need to collect the following information:

• IP address and port number of the database server

• The name of the database

• The username and password of the database

• The type of database

1. Admin logs in FineBI, clicks Manage > Data Connection > Data Connection Management > New Data Connection. 

Note: If you are a common user, you need to get the permission from the admin for managing data connection in the management system. For details, see Data Connection Permissions Overview.

2. Find the INFORMIX data source.

3. Enter the connection information retrieved in section "Collecting Connection Information". Then select Default as the driver is built-in.

Pattern is greyed out before connecting to the database. Click Click to Connect Database first, and then select Pattern.

The input format for Database Name is Database Name:INFORMIXSERVER=Server Name

4. Click Test Connection. If the connection is successful, click Save.

There are two ways to add database tables to FineBI:
