In many analysis scenarios, you may want to analyze and visually display data of different countries and cities, and differentiate the degree of a specific indicator for different countries and cities.
For example, during the annual summary, you need to display the sales data of various countries and cities on a map and view the sales data of different cities within that country by just clicking the country. Additionally, the map should have a gradient color effect based on the quantity of the sales.
You can drill down from country to city as needed and display data of different countries and cities.
Example data: demo data table Office Supplies Data.
1. Use the Office Supplies Data table. Add a component and create customer distribution data drilling down from country to city. Select the Country field and convert it to a geographic role.
2. Select the City field, convert it into a geographic role, and the corresponding latitude and longitude fields are generated automatically.
3. After the latitude and longitude fields are generated, drag the City field into the Country field, create a drill-down directory Country,City (the name of the drill-down directory generated automatically), and click OK to save.
The Country, City directory automatically generates two drill-down directories of longitude and latitude.
1. Select Area Map in the chart type and drag Country, City(longitude) into Horizontal Axis and Country, City(latitude) into Vertical Axis respectively.
2. The chart shows the countries where there are targeted customers, but does not have the drill-down effect yet. You need to drag the created drill-down directory field into Color/Label/Prompt/Fine-grained in the graphic property. Drag this field into Label as shown in the following figure.
1. Drag the Count field into Color in the graph property.
2. Click , select Area Gradient as the gradient type, and select Autumn as the gradient scheme.
For the effect, see section "Functions".
