Application Scenario

You may need to transfer filter conditions (which must be detail filter conditions of indicators) with the linkage and jump functions.

For example, by clicking Contract Amount of Illinois, you can filter out Received Payment for Illinois in 2016.

Function Description

With the Interaction Property function (selected by default) in Component Style, you can determine whether to pass the detail filter conditions during linkage and jump. The following table shows detailed description.

The section takes linkage as an example for illustration purposes. (The same principle applies to the jump function.)

Data Preparation

1. Log in to FineBI, click My Analysis, select a folder, and click New Subject.

2. Click Local Excel and Upload Data.

You can download the sample data Regional Data Analysis.xlsx.

3. After the data is uploaded, click OK.

4. Click Save and Update and Exit and Preview. The data is created successfully.

Component Creation

1. Click the Component button in the bottom left corner and select Group Table for Chart Type.

2. Drag State and Contract Amount from the left analysis area to Dimension and Indicator respectively to complete the component, as shown in the following figure.

3. Click the ⁝ button next to the Component tab in the bottom left corner, select Rename, and rename the component to State Sales Statistics.

4. Click the Component button at the bottom and select Group Table for Chart Type.

5. Drag Time of Contract and Received Payment from the left to-be-analyzed area to Dimension and Indicator respectively, as shown in the following figure.

6. Click the drop-down list button of the dimension field Time of Contract and select Year.

7. Click the ⁝ button next to the Component tab at the bottom, select Rename, and rename the component to Annual Received Payment.

Detail Filter Setting

1. In State Sales Statistics, click the drop-down list button of the Contract Amount field in the left to-be-analyzed area, and select Filter Detail....

2. Click Add Condition(AND) in the Add Filter Conditions to Regional Data Analysis. Contract Amount pop-up.

3. Select the Time of Contract field and set Time Period (for example, from 2016-01-01 to 2016-12-31).

4. Finally, click OK to filter details of Contract Amount in the Regional Data Analysis table.

Selecting Interaction Properties

Example:

You want to trigger linkage by clicking the contract amount of a certain state (including triggering Perform Linkage by Contract (Sum)). The detail filter condition is transferred during linkage to filter out the received payment amount of the state in 2016.

Procedure

1. After filtering details of Contract Amount, select Transfer Detail Filtering Condition During Linkage/Jump, as shown in the following figure.

2. Click Add Dashboard at the bottom of the analysis subject editing page to enter the dashboard editing page, and drag the two created components into the dashboard.

Effect Display

For example, click Contract Amount of Illinois to trigger Perform Linkage by Contract (Sum). The detail filter condition is transferred during linkage to filter out Received Payment of Illinois in 2016, as shown in the following figure.

Note

After you click Contract Amount when linkage and jump exist for the same component, a list that contains Perform Linkage by Contract Amount and (Based on Contract Amount) Jump to Analysis Template is displayed, as shown in the following figure.

Deselecting Interaction Properties

Example

You want to trigger linkage (without triggering Perform Linkage by Contract (Sum)) after clicking the contract amount of a certain state. The detail filter condition is not transferred, and the received payment amount of a certain state in all years is filtered out.

Procedure:

Choose Component Style > Interaction Property in the State Sales Statistics table and deselect Transfer Detail Filtering Condition During Linkage/Jump, as shown in the following figure.

Effect Display

For example, click Contract Amount of Illinois to trigger linkage (without triggering Perform Linkage by Contract (Sum)). The detail filter condition is not transferred, and the received payment amount of Illinois in all years is filtered out.
