Upgrade Procedure (V10.0 to V11.0) Through Deployment

    Deployment upgrade means that you can directly deploy a new 11.0 system, and then move the 10.0 template to the newly deployed system to achieve the upgrade. This article will explain how to perform the deployment upgrade.

    Conditions

    1. You do not need to manage user information in the platform.

    2. There are few permissions settings in the platform.

    3. There are few tasks schedule in the platform.

    Principles

    The template created by FineReport is upward compatible, that is, you can directly use the template of 10.0 in the 11.0 version, but not the opposite. As a result, when there is not much information on the decision platform, you can directly move the 10.0 template to the newly deployed 11.0 version for use.

    Note: When using the 10.0 template on the 11.0 system, ensure that the configurations of their data connection are consistent and data can realize the communication.

    Steps

    Deploying Version 11.0

    Note: The steps above are deployment through deployment packages. You can also use Independent Deployment to deploy 11.0 version. There are no restrictions on deployment methods.

    Configuring Platform Information

    1. Connecting Data

    To run the template successfully, you need to connect to the business database and ensure the data connection in the platform. You can reconfigure it on the 11.0 platform according to the 10.0 version configuration information.

    If you want to establish data connection in Decision-making Platform, select Server > Report Platform Management, open Decision-making Platform, and establish New Data Connection. For details, see [Platform] Configure data connection.

    2. Task Schedule

    You can reconfigure on the platform of version 11.0 according to the configuration information of version 10.0 to realize a few schedule tasks.

    The administrator can log in to Decision-making Platform and click Manage > Task Schedule to go to the timing scheduling function interface. For details, see Task Schedule Management.

    3. Platform Users

    If some information of users needs to be synchronized to the old version, see User Management.

    Synchronizing Template Files

    Move the old template to version 11: Move the template file from the 10.0 version webapps\ project name\ WEB-INF\ reportlets path to the same directory webapps\ webroot\ WEB-INF\ reportlets of the 11.0 version. For this action, you do not need to restart the computer.

    Installing Required Plugins

    The administrator can log in to the Decision-making Platform, click Manage > Plugin, search the needed plugin in the search box, select it and click Install, as shown in the following figure:

    Authorization Files

    Version 11.0 requires a new authorization file. To apply for it, you can contact the corresponding sale personnel or technical support team.

    1. If you are a new customer, call the sale personnel directly.

    2. If you are a cooperative customer of FanRuan, contact technical support team to obtain the file.

    Note

    If the 10.0 version needs the sap data set plugin, the driver needs reinstalling after the data connection is configured on the platform.
