    Function Description

    Export Attribute allows you to set the template attributes during export. This function includes Common, Excel, PDF, Word, and Image. This document introduces the functions of settings in each tab in detail.

     The setting is valid only for the single template in FineReport 11.0.7 and later versions.

    Common

    Choose Template (on the designer menu bar) > Export Attribute > Common.

    Formula Supported During Password Setting is deselected by default. If you select this function, you can use formulas to set passwords for to-be-exported files and sheets in Excel/PDF/Word.

    Excel

    For FineReport Earlier than 11.0.9

    1. Choose Template (on the designer menu bar) > Export Attribute > Excel, as shown in the following figure.

    2. Excel Export Attribute includes Export Hidden Row, Export Hidden Column, Need Password, and Protected Password, which are deselected by default.

    For FineReport 11.0.9 and Later Versions

    1. Choose Template (on the designer menu bar) > Export Attribute > Excel, as shown in the following figure.

    If you hope to hide a cell (with its row height/column width set to 0) after exporting the template as an Excel file and view the cell content by dragging its row height/column width as needed, you can select Export Hidden Row/Export Hidden Column.

    File Protection

    If you select this function, File Password will appear. If you set a file password, you need to enter the correct password to open the exported Excel file.

    Edit Protection

    If you select this function, Sheet Password and Preview Only will appear. Since these two options are both for sheet password setting, you only need to select one of them. Edit Protection is deselected by default. If you select it, Sheet Password will be selected by default.

    Sheet Password allows you to set a sheet password for the exported Excel file. Only users who know the correct password can edit cell contents.

    If you select Preview Only, the following operations can not be performed.

    Edit the exported file.

    Copy cell contents in the exported Excel (2007) file in FineReport 11.0.13 and later versions.

    Export Watermark

    If you select this function, watermarks will exist in the exported file.

    Note: Export Watermark is supported in Excel 2003 and Excel 2007.

    PDF

    1. Choose Template (on the designer menu bar) > Export Attribute > PDF, as shown in the following figure.

    2. File Password (deselected by default) in PDF Export Attribute allows you to set a password for the exported PDF file. After you set a password, only users who enter the correct password can view the file content. For details, see Password Attributes of Exporting PDF.

    Word

    For FineReport Earlier than 11.0.9

    1. Choose Template (on the designer menu bar) > Export Attribute > Word, as shown in the following figure.

    2. If you export a template as a Word file through the default setting in FineReport, a fixed row height will be set in cells, causing the row height of the table not to be automatically adjusted after line breaks when you perform secondary edit on the exported file. In this case, you can select Export at Unfixed Row Height in Word Export Attribute to determine the row height of the exported Word file as needed.

    For FineReport 11.0.9 and Later Versions

    1. Choose Template (on the designer menu bar) > Export Attribute > Word, as shown in the following figure.

    The image export attributes allow you to set the attributes of the to-be-exported image when you want to export a template as an Image file. Choose Template (on the designer menu bar) > Export Attribute > Image, as shown in the following figure.

    1. Resolution can be set to 96 dpi, 192 dpi (default setting), and 300 dpi.

    2. Format can be set to jpg and png (default setting).

    3. Render Quality can be set to Quality First and Speed First.

    4. Layout can be set to Thumbnail and Pagination. Layout settings are valid only for the email body.
