Dynamically Displaying Data for a Time Period Before & After Filtering Component

Application Scenarios

You may need to display the data for a period of time before and after the filter component conditions instead of the data corresponding to the set filter component conditions. In this case, it is not enough to only use the filter component.

Preview

Example one: Display the data of the current year up to the current month.

Use the year and month filter component and set the filter condition to display the data of the current year before the selected month.

For example, when you select October 2014 as the year and month filter condition, the displayed data is from January 2014 to October 2014.

Example two: Display the data for the past 15 days from the current time.

FineBI defaults to displaying the data for the past 15 days from the current time. After setting conditions for the time filter component, you can see data for the past 15 days from the set filter time.

For example, the system defaults to displaying the data for the past 15 days from the current time (the past 15 days from 2023/07/04). If the filter condition is set to 2020/12/01, the displayed data is for the past 15 days from 2020/12/01.

Implementation Method

• Create a chart and add a time type parameter.

• Filter the indicator field to be displayed in the chart through Filter Detail and set the filtering conditions.

• Add a filter component to the dashboard and bind the parameter.

Creating a Chart and Adding a Time Type Parameter

1. Upload the downloaded example data to Public Data in FineBI.

Select the uploaded example data, click Create Analysis Subject, rename it as Contract Information, and select the location to be placed.

2. Click Component to go to the component editing interface.

3. Drag Time of Contract and Contract Amount into Dimensions and Indicators respectively, and set Time of Contract to be grouped by year and month.

4. Add a time type parameter.

Setting Filter Conditions for Contract Amount

1. Select Contract Amount and set Filter Detail. Since the time period to be displayed is the data of the current year before the filter component values, you need to set the filter condition to "before the end of the month of the parameter value", and another condition to "all data of the current year of the parameter value".

2. Click Add Dashboard and drag the created component into the dashboard.

3. Drag Year and Month Filter Component into the dashboard, tick Bind Parameter, click , and tick Parameter.

Creating a Chart and Adding a Time Type Parameter

1. Upload the downloaded example data to FineBI and create an analysis subject. Click Component to go to the component editing interface, and drag Time and Contract Amount into Dimensions and Indicators respectively.

2. Add a time type parameter.

Setting Filter Conditions for Contract Amount

1. Select Contract Amount and set Filter Detail. Since the time period to be displayed is the data of the past 15 days from the filter component value, you need to set the filter condition to "before the current day of parameter value" and another condition to "the data after 15 days before the parameter value" to get the needed time period.

2. Click Add Dashboard and drag the created component into the dashboard.

3. Drag Date Filter Component into the dashboard, tick Bind Parameter, click

Setting Dynamic Time for the Filter Component

To display data on the dashboard for the past 15 days from the current time, click the filter component, select Dynamic Time, set it to today, and click OK.
