Function Description
Assign values to data by group without affecting the existing fields.
Group and Assignment Example
Sales Table is recorded by province, but the leader wants to learn the work situation of each region's team through the sales volume of each region.
The company's regions are divided into East China and Central China according to the geographical locations in China.
1. Create an analysis subject in My Analysis, add Sales Table, and go to the data editing page.
2. Click Assignment Column.
3. Enter Region in Name.
Group data in the province field and assign values. Select the provinces belonging to East China in Ungrouped, click Add Group, and name the new group East China.
4. Similarly, allocate other provinces to their corresponding groups.
5. Click OK. Then the Region column is added to the data table.
After assignment, you can easily analyze the sales volume of each region. For example, you can use the Group Summary function to calculate the sales volume of each region.
Assigning Values to Data Columns
If you group data in the Sales column, you can assign different values to different data intervals.
If you set Group Assignment to Auto, the data is automatically grouped grouped by interval. For example, if you set Interval to 60000 and click OK, the following figure shows the effect.
Other Functions
Moving to
You can move selected provinces to other groups in FineBI.
Copying to
In some cases, an object may belong to two groups.
For example, Linda belongs to both the sales department and the company's decision-making department. In this case, you can use the Copy to function.
For example, if 51011 (grouped in A) belongs to both A and B, you can click 51011, click Copy to, tick B, and click OK.
Then both A and B have 51011.
