The bubble charts represent the size or volume of the data by the size of the bubbles and represent the category or group of the data by the color of the bubbles. The chart is suitable for displaying multiple groups of data, allowing for a visual comparison of the values between different categories.
In a bubble chart, each bubble represents a data point. The position of the bubble is usually determined by two axes (similar to a scatter chart) while the size of the bubble represents the size of the value it associates. In addition, different data categories or groups can be distinguished by different colored bubbles.
For example, you can use a bubble chart to display the actual enrollment of different provinces. You can visually find out that Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Shanxi rank the top three in terms of the actual enrollment based on the following figure.
The basic requirements for bubble charts are as follows.

1. Advantage
Visual comparison: You can visually compare the values of different categories or groups through the size of the bubbles.
Data distribution observation: The bubble charts can be used to observe the distribution of data, representing the data by the size of the bubbles, which helps identify patterns or outliers in the dataset.
2. Disadvantage
Data volume limit: Too many bubbles in the dataset can make the chart cluttered and difficult to understand, especially when the bubbles overlap.
Visual perception error: As the chart displays the three-dimensional data by a two-dimensional plane, a certain visual perception error exists, which may affect the accurate judgment of data size.
