FineBI is provided for free by FanRuan, and you can use this software for functional testing and trial.
The directly downloaded FineBI contains all functions, but limits concurrency. When you use some functions, trial information marks may be displayed.
You can contact FanRuan business personnel to purchase function points as needed and register the purchased function points. Registered function points can be used, while those not purchased cannot be used.
1. To ensure normal use experience, you are advised to purchase and register the function points. For details about FineBI registration, see Local Machine Information Authentication.2. Only purchased function points can be used after registration. Even if you have uploaded the registration license, you still cannot use functions that are not purchased. You can contact sales personnel to purchase new function points.
Log in to the FineBI system as the admin and choose System Management > Registration Management. If you do not register any function point in FineBI, Unregistered will be displayed when you view the registration information, as shown in the following figure.
If FineBI is not registered or the license has expired, when you access templates or data analysis through an IP address or domain name, the copyright information will be displayed at the bottom of the template: Focused on BI for 15 years, Fanruan is your optimal choice. Powered by FineRuan. Trial Mode.
The concurrency refers to the maximum number of simultaneous accesses to the report server. For details, see Registration Concurrency Principle.
If you have not registered FineBI, the concurrency quantity is fixed at 2, as shown in the following figure.
If the number of concurrent server accesses has reached the maximum, users who log in later cannot access the server.
Web Application Server
The web application server of the unregistered version will pause every seven days, and the dashboard cannot be accessed normally. To solve the problem, you need to restart the web application server (for example, Tomcat).
If your project is in progress, the pause issue caused by unregistered FineBI may significantly affect the project and even cause unnecessary losses.
Therefore, you are advised to purchase FineBI and register before using it.
If FineBI is not registered or the license has expired, when you access templates or data analysis through IP or domain name, the system will pop up Registration Reminder once a day.

When the project is not registered, Recycle Bin and Collaborate cannot be used.

Enterprises are advised to purchase FineBI software and register it.
After registration, FineBI can bring a free, secure, and smooth data analysis experience to members in the enterprise. The details are as follows:
Individual users who install and use FineBI on their local computers may experience limited performance due to limited memory and disk space, and in severe cases, may experience issues such as lagging or overheating.
When FineBI is deployed on an enterprise's server, members in the enterprise do not need to install and start FineBI locally. They can directly access and use enterprise FineBI for data analysis through a browser, without restrictions on time and device.
Furthermore, by configuring the appropriate software and hardware, enterprise server admins can ensure a smooth and seamless analytics experience for all users.
FineBI's official Demo adopts server deployment to bring a smoother analysis experience. You can click the Online Demo to experience it, as shown in the following figure:
When individual users install and use FineBI on their local computers, they cannot share the created dashboard with other users anytime and anywhere. This approach has the following restrictions:
The dashboard can only be shared through public links, with the requirement that both the sharer's and the shared users' IP addresses are in the same LAN.
The number of IP addresses accessing the dashboard at the same time is limited to 2.
The original sharing link becomes invalid once the FineBI project on the sharer's personal computer is shut down, preventing the shared users from accessing the shared dashboard.
When using FineBI, enterprises can enable internal members to share data analysis reports online by providing them with access accounts. There are various ways to share, including:
Dashboard sharing, namely, the shared user can access, edit, and save the analysis report as a new copy.
Public links sharing, namely, users who obtain public links can access the analysis report through this link, which is suitable for meeting reporting scenarios.
Dashboards publication, namely, publishing dashboards created by users in FineBI to the platform directory.
Collaboration, namely, collaborating on folders or analysis subjects with other design users, so that they can view, use, and collaboratively edit the content of analysis subjects.
For details, see: Dashboard Sharing Overview
When individual users install and use FineBI on local computers, they generally first export Excel data from ERP, OA, and other business systems, and then upload the data to FineBI for analysis. When the data is updated, individual users need to manually append Excel data to see the latest data in the analysis report.
When using FineBI, enterprises can directly obtain business data by connecting to the enterprise database, without the need for users to manually export Excel sheets and then upload them for analysis. At the same time, the data can be automatically updated to ensure the timeliness of business data.
Enterprise data admins are often concerned with data security. Important and private data leakage will pose a serious threat to enterprise operations. How to ensure data security while meeting business analysis needs?
FineBI provides a well-developed permission management system that supports permission control refined to the row and column levels of data tables:
Ensure data security and prevent data leakage.
Personalized display, a single analysis report presents different content to different people. For example, in a group and subsidiary company structure, group users can see the overall data, while users of subsidiary companies can only see the data of subsidiary companies.
Conveniently allocate and maintain data permissions to shorten maintenance time.
For the authority management system, see: Permission.
When users in the enterprise depart or transfer roles, their original analysis assets are often lost and need to be reproduced, leading to inefficient and repetitive workload.
FineBI supports resource handover. When users depart or change roles, admins can hand over all or part of their analysis assets to each in-service user so that they can continue to use and edit the analysis assets. This ensures the analysis assets to be effectively retained and inherited.
For details, see Resource Handover.
Server Registration
Project Registration Method Recommendation
This document introduces various server registration methods and how to choose the appropriate one.
Plugin Registration
Through plugin registration, developers can get the profits they deserve.
. As a result, developers can focus more on perfecting their plugins, users get access to better and more refined plugins, and a robust ecosystem is thus established.
1. You do not need to register plugins for unregistered projects, as all plugins are free.
2. Plugins in the registered project can be trialed for free for 90 days, and can be used continuously when they are registered after 90 days.
Cluster Registration
Registration through Local Machine Information Authentication allows you to export the cluster RIF file concatenated with the machine code and MAC address and perform registration.
Registration License Migration
Authorization Migration Plugin
1. You can replace the BI server with the server authenticated through Local Machine Information Authentication.
2. For the server of 5.0 and later versions authenticated through Local Machine Information Authentication, you can upgrade the license across major versions.
For the server of 5.0 and earlier versions authenticated through Local Machine Information Authentication, you can upgrade the license across major versions by referring to Local Machine Information Authentication Migration Program.
