Application Scenario
On the Directory Management page, you can add, modify or delete the directories on the platform and the mobile terminals.
On the Directory Management page, you can search and then quickly locate the specific directories if the number of directories is large.
Function Description
Directory Management refers to setting the virtual directories of the FineBI system, where you can add, modify, and delete directories.
This document details how to perform the above-mentioned operations and add different types of nodes including BI templates, templates, tabs, links, and directories.
Directory Management
Directory management refers to adding, modifying, and deleting the directories of the FineBI system.
Adding the Directory
1. Procedure
1. Log in to the FineBI system as the admin, choose System Management > Directory Management, and click Directory Management. Select Add Directory, and enter the directory name. You can describe the folder in the input box.
Tick the display terminal (PC, Tablet, and Mobile) as needed to limit the device on which all templates in the directory can be viewed.
Click OK. The new directory is added to Directory Management on the left Directory List panel.
2. Mounting Links or Templates in the Top-Level Directory
If versions of the JAR package, the App, and relevant plugins meet the requirements in the following table, you can mount templates and links to the top-level directory (on DataAnalyst and HTML5 terminals).
FineBI Version | App Version | Plugin Name | Plugin Version | Supported Function |
6.0 | 11.0 | HTML5 Mobile Display | V10.4.55 | Mount templates or links to the top-level directory. |

3. Hiding Empty Directories on the Mobile Terminal
The top-level and multi-level empty directories are not displayed on the mobile terminals (DataAnalyst and HTML5 terminals) by default.
If you add an empty directory named FRtest to Directory Management, the FRtest directory will not be displayed on the App interface, as shown in the following figure.
The super admin can set whether to display empty directories on mobile terminals like App and HTML5 through the fine_conf_entity Visual Configuration plugin. The settings take effect after the server is restarted.

Configuration Item | Modification Rule |
---|---|
MobileConfig.emptyDirVisible | Boolean (defaulting to false) true: Display empty directories. false: Do not display empty directories. |

You can add the report tab in FineBI's Directory Management, but can only use the Multi-level Data Report function with data entry templates. For details about achieving the report function, you are advised to Integrate FineReport to FineBI and see Multi-Level Data Report.

Adding a Link
There are two scenarios when you add links:
The Link Path is an external link. In addition to reports, you can also add links to the platform for access. For example, you can add a link path:https://www.finereport.com/en/.
The Link Path is a relative path. If the link is mounted with HTML pages, pictures or GIF pictures, you can save the file in the webroot file in the path %FineBI_HOME%\webapps\webroot. The relative link paths of the linked content are:/webroot/1.png, /webroot/1.gif, /webroot/demo.html.
1. Procedure
1. Select the BItest directory. Click Add Link, and the setting page appears. Enter FanReport's FanRuan Official Website in the Name box, and enterhttps://www.finereport.com/en/in the Link Path box.

If there are too many directories, you can search for the target directory or template and find it quickly on the Directory Management page.

1. The two root directories Homepage Management and Directory Management are not within the searching scope.
2. The Batch Delete function is disabled when you are searching.
Directory Structure Adjustment
Log in to the FineBI system as the admin, choose System Management > Directory Management, and adjust the order of directories and templates in Directory List.
For example, you can drag one directory into the parent directory or non-parent directory as needed.
