    Application Scenario

    On the Directory Management page, you can add, modify or delete the directories on the platform and the mobile terminals.

    On the Directory Management page, you can search and then quickly locate the specific directories if the number of directories is large.

    Function Description    

    Directory Management refers to setting the virtual directories of the FineBI system, where you can add, modify, and delete directories.

    This document details how to perform the above-mentioned operations and add different types of nodes including BI templates, templates, tabs, links, and directories.

    Directory Management

    Directory management refers to adding, modifying, and deleting the directories of the FineBI system.

    Adding the Directory

    1. Procedure

    1. Log in to the FineBI system as the admin, choose System Management > Directory Management, and click Directory Management. Select Add Directory, and enter the directory name. You can describe the folder in the input box.

    Tick the display terminal (PC, Tablet, and Mobile) as needed to limit the device on which all templates in the directory can be viewed.

    Click OK. The new directory is added to Directory Management on the left Directory List panel.

    2. Mounting Links or Templates in the Top-Level Directory

    If versions of the JAR package, the App, and relevant plugins meet the requirements in the following table, you can mount templates and links to the top-level directory (on DataAnalyst and HTML5 terminals).

    3. Hiding Empty Directories on the Mobile Terminal

    The top-level and multi-level empty directories are not displayed on the mobile terminals (DataAnalyst and HTML5 terminals) by default.

    If you add an empty directory named FRtest to Directory Management, the FRtest directory will not be displayed on the App interface, as shown in the following figure.

    The super admin can set whether to display empty directories on mobile terminals like App and HTML5 through the fine_conf_entity Visual Configuration plugin. The settings take effect after the server is restarted.

    Editing the Directory

    Click the directory BItest, and you can modify its name, description and display terminals on the right. Click Save to save all the settings.

    Deleting the Directory

    1. Deleting One Directory

    Click the icon 93002143bc8dea8cfce287c72abd9c3.png. It prompts "The content of the directory will be deleted along with the directory. Sure to perform deletion?". Click OK to delete the directory.

    2. Deleting Directories in Batches

    You can delete directories in batch.

    Click the icon 9452acdfbc4a712d563a8f8175b484e.pngand click Batch Delete. Then the single selection box appears on the left of each file. Tick the files as needed and delete them in batches.

    Node Management

    Node Management allows you to add BI templates, templates, links and tabs to the current directory, delete existing templates in batches, and edit and delete a single existing template.

    Adding a BI Template

    BI templates are the dahsboard templates.

    1. Selecting the Path

    Click the BItest directory, and click BI Template. The Select Path page pops up where you can search for and select the required templateMulti-selection is supported.

    2. Setting the Template

    Click Next to set the template. Each template has a title bar. Click 1712545145845821.png beside the title bar to expand or collapse the template setting page.

    (Optional) Hover the mouse over the title bar, and click the deletion icon on the right to delete the template.

    iconNote:

    1. The template name in the title bar is automatically synchronized with the name in configuration items. If the template is unnamed, the title bar will be empty.

    2. The Terminal setting of the template is the same with that of the directory by default. If no display terminal is ticked for the directory, the Terminal options of the template to be added to the directory are grey and cannot be selected.

    3. Effect Display

    1. Click OKThe new template is added to the BItest directory.

    You can click the deletion icon to delete the template. Select the template and you can modify its attributes on the right. Click Save after modification.

    Click Preview Template to preview the template in a new tab.

    Adding a Template

    Templates refers to the FineReport templates are placed in the path %BI_HOME%\webapps\webroot\WEB-INF\reportlets.

    The procedure of adding templates is the same as that of adding BI templates. For details, you can see section "Adding a BI Template".

    Adding a Report Tab

    You can add the report tab in FineBI's Directory Management, but can only use the Multi-level Data Report function with data entry templates. For details about achieving the report function, you are advised to Integrate FineReport to FineBI and see Multi-Level Data Report.

    iconNote:
    If the Multi-level Data Report function is not registered in FineReport, there will be no Report Tab option on the Directory Management page in FineBI. For details, see section "Multi-level Data Report" of Registration Management.

    Adding a Link

    There are two scenarios when you add links:

    The Link Path is an external link. In addition to reports, you can also add links to the platform for access. For example, you can add a link path:https://www.finereport.com/en/.

    The Link Path is a relative path. If the link is mounted with HTML pages, pictures or GIF pictures, you can save the file in the webroot file in the path %FineBI_HOME%\webapps\webroot. The relative link paths of the linked content are:/webroot/1.png, /webroot/1.gif, /webroot/demo.html.

    1. Procedure

    1. Select the BItest directory. Click Add Link, and the setting page appears. Enter FanReport's FanRuan Official Website in the Name box, and enterhttps://www.finereport.com/en/in the Link Path box.

    The specific path of the link must include http://. Otherwise it cannot be visited.

    2. Click OK. A link record is added in the directory. You can edit and delete the record as needed.

    2. Effect Display

    Click Directory. The directory is refreshed, and the newly added FanRuan Official Website node is displayed on the directory tree.

    Directory and Template Search

    If there are too many directories, you can search for the target directory or template and find it quickly on the Directory Management page.

    iconNote:

    1. The two root directories Homepage Management and Directory Management are not within the searching scope.

    2. The Batch Delete function is disabled when you are searching.

    Directory Structure Adjustment

    Log in to the FineBI system as the admin, choose System Management > Directory Management, and adjust the order of directories and templates in Directory List.

    For example, you can drag one directory into the parent directory or non-parent directory as needed.
