    Application Scenarios

    Users create a dashboard under My Analysis and hope to publish it to the directory for others to view.

    Users create a dataset under My Analysis and hope to publish it to Public Data for other analysts to use.

    Functions

    The admin logs in to FineBI, clicks Publication Management and can view the dashboards and datasets that users have applied for publication or already published within their permission scope.

    The admin can filter and search dashboards and datasets based on Department Duty, Role, Apply user, Status, Application time, Type, and Name.

    This example is performed under the admin's account, which can view all the publishing requests of users in the system. If you need to restrict the sub-admin from receiving publishing requests within a specified permission scope, see: Using Permission for Publication Management.

    Filtering Published Content

    The admin logs in to FineBI, clicks Manage > Publication Management, and can search and display dashboards or datasets based on Department Duty, Role, Apply user, Status, and Application time, making it easy to quickly find target dashboards or dataset.

    Explanation

    Status

    There are three types of status:

    1. Apply for publication:

    The user creates a dashboard in My Analysis and applies to publish it to the directory.

    The user creates data in My Analysis and applies to publish it to public data.

    2. Apply for unpublishing:

    The user creates a dashboard in My Analysis and publishes it to the directory, and then hopes to remove it from the directory now.

    The user creates data in My Analysis and publishes it to public data, and then hopes to remove it from public data now.

    3. Published:

    The user creates a dashboard in My Analysis and applies to publish it to the directory, and the admin has approved.

    The user creates data in My Analysis and applies to publish it to public data, and the admin has approved.

    Apply user

    Apply user refers to the username of the user who applies for publishing or unpublishing.

    Department Duty

    Department Duty refers to the department and duty of the user who applies for publishing or unpublishing.

    Role

    Role refers to the roles of users who applies for publishing or unpublishing.

    Application time

    Application time refers to the time when the user applies for publishing or unpublishing.

    Type

    There are two types, dashboard and dataset.

    Dashboard: Created by users in My Analysis, whose status can be Apply for publication, Apply for unpublishing or Published in the directory.

    Dataset: Created by users in My Analysis, whose status can be Apply for publication, Apply for unpublishing or Published in public data.

    Name

    Manually enter the names of the Apply for publishingApply for unpublishing or Published dashboards and datasets.

    Previewing Published Content

    The admin logs into FineBI, clicks Manage > Publication Management, and can view specific information about dashboards or dataset, including Name, Status, Apply user, Department Duty, Role, and Application time.

    Click Preview in the Operation list to preview target dashboard or dataset.

    Save as and Export functions are not supported when previewing.


    Users Applying for Publication

    After you create a dashboard or dataset, click Apply for publication. Then the admin logs in FineBI, clicks Manage > Publication Management > Process in the Operation list of publication application to enter the Deal with Publication interface.

    The admin can modify the publishing node and Remarks.

    · If the admin ticks Agree to publish, the dashboard or dataset will be published to the directory or public data.

    · If the admin ticks Reject the application, then this application will be rejected. The admin can fill in Reason for rejection to notify to the user along with the platform message.

    Users Applying for Unpublishing

    After you apply for publication a dashboard or dataset, you can click Apply for unpublishing to unpublish the dashboard or dataset. Then the admin logs in the FineBI, clicks Manage > Publication Management > Process in Operation list of unpublishing application to enter the Unpublish interface.

    The admin can view the location where the current dashboard or dataset is published to determine whether it can be unpublished.

    If the admin selects Agree to unpublish in Application Suggestions, the published dashboard or dataset will be unpublished from the directory or public data.

    If the admin selects Reject the application in Application Suggestions, the application will be rejected. The admin can fill in Reason for rejection to notify to the user along with the platform message.

    The Admin Canceling the Publication of Dashboards or Datasets

    For published dashboards or datasets, the admin can also unpublish them directly when their creators have not applied for unpublishing.

    The admin logs into FineBI, clicks Manage > Publication Management > Process in the Operation list, and enters the Unpublish interface.

    The admin can view the location where the current dashboard or dataset is published to determine whether it can be unpublished.

    Click Unpublish immediately remove the dashboard or dataset published to the directory or public data.

    At this time, the creator of the dataset or dataset will receive a notification of unpublishing.

    Publication Management Exception

    When using Publication Management function, you may encounter some exception prompts.

    Current Content Has Been Retracted and Cannot Be Processed

    Description:

    When the admin clicks Process on the Publication Management interface, the system prompts: Current content has been retracted and cannot be processed.

    Reasons:

    1. The applicant cancels the Apply for publication application when the admin is processing it.

    2.The Apply for publication resources are lost when the admin is processing it.

    3. If two admins process applications at the same time, the admin who process later will receive this prompt.

    Current Content Permission Has Been Withdrawn and Cannot Be Processed

    Description:

    When the admin clicks Process on the Publication Management interface, the system prompts: Current content permission has been withdrawn and cannot be processed.

    Reasons:

    1. During the approval period, the admin loses publication management permission.

    2. During the approval period, the admin loses management permissions of departments and users. 

    No Edit Permission

    Description:

    When the admin is processing a publication application, the publishing node is marked in red, the OK button is grayed out, and the system prompts: No edit permission.

    Reasons:

    The admin loses the management permission of target path or directory when using Publication Management function.

    The Current Node Has Been Deleted

    Description:

    When the admin is processing a publication application, the publication node is marked in red and the system prompts: The current node has been deleted. The OK button is grayed out, and the system prompts: The current node has been deleted.

    Reasons:

    The target path is lost and may have been deleted.

    Approval Failed, the Current Content Has Been Withdrawn

    Description:

    When using the Publication Management function, the admin clicks OK, and then the system prompts: Approval failed, the current content has been withdrawn.

    Reasons:

    1. The applicant canceles the application during the approval period.

    2. The requested resource is lost.

    3. Two admins approve at the same time while process the same application at different time.

    Approval Failed, Current Content Permissions Have Been Withdrawn

    Description:

    When using the Publication Management function, the admin clicks OK, and then the system prompts: Approval failed, current content permissions have been withdrawn.

    Reasons:

    1. During the approval period, the admin loses publication management permission.

    2. During the approval period, the admin loses management permissions of departments and users.

    Approval Failed, Please Try Again

    Description:

    When using the Publication Management function, the admin clicks OK, and then the system prompts: Approval failed, please try again.

    Reasons:

    1. During the approval period, the admin loses the management permissions of the target path or directory.

    2. The target path is lost and may have been deleted.

    Some Content Approval Failed, Please Try Again

    Description:

    When using the Publication Management function, the admin clicks OK, and then the system prompts: Some content approval failed, please try again.

    Reasons:

    During the approval period, the admin loses the permissions for some paths.
