    Application Scenario

    1. History tracing: Data analysis may need you to try different data processing methods. A preemptive "archiving" helps you to revert to the original state when the department business logic changes.

    2. Content drafting: If you cannot completely modify your published content, you can archive the content to modify it next time.

    Function Description

In an analysis subject, you can click the 9d606b9f87ba88900e4e78a54444de0.png icon in the upper-right corner and select Save as Version (saving the current subject as a version) or Version Management (managing the saved versions) from the drop-down list.

    Saving as Version

You can perform Save as Version to save the temporary configurations of the current subject as a configuration backup. You can set the version name and remarks, as shown in the following figure.

    iconNote:
Save as Version and Save (subject) are separate operations. Saving a subject as a version cannot trigger subject saving.

    Version Management

You can modify the version name and remarks and read/delete the saved versions in Version Management.

After a version is Read, the edited and unsaved content may be lost. You are advised to save the analysis subject first and read its historical versions.

    Special Archive

When you forcibly close the current tab page, a special archive (getting overwritten each time this scenario occurs) is generated in Version Management.

You can click Read to restore the edited content before you close the tab page.

    Notes

    1. Versions cannot be read when multiple people are editing a subject.

    图片4.png

    2. A subject can be manually saved up to 5 versions at most, but the special archive has no restriction.

    3. You cannot find the deleted versions in Recycle Bin. You can delete the subject first, and the previously saved version will be retained after you restore the subject from Recycle Bin.

    4. The subject version will not be retained after the subject/dashboard is saved.

    5. Version exporting/importing is not supported during resource moving in My Analysis.

    6. Only the versions of the target subject are retained under My Analysis > Organize Subject Quickly (You can obtain the function through the Subject Merge plugin).

    7. Version configurations are made compatible during upgrades for version loss prevention.

    8. Collaborators (also the admin) can have the permission to create, read and delete versions.
