Geographic Information

  • I. Overview

    1) Geographic information is used to record area boundaries and longitudes and latitudes of points on a map, and users can configure geographic information on their own.

    2) After inserting a map into a report, users can create charts such as area maps, point maps, map drill-down by selecting corresponding map information.

    II. Steps

    1. Click [Manage] – [Map Configuration] – [Geographic Information].

     


    2. Add a directory.

    Select the parent directory under which a new directory will be added and click the [+] button next to Geographic Information.

    In the pop-up dialog box, input the directory name, i.e., area name.

    Click OK to complete adding.


    3. Edit a directory.

    Move the mouse over the directory name to be edited. The Edit button appears on the right side of the directory name.

    Click  and modify the directory name in the pop-up dialog box.

    Click OK and the directory name is successfully modified.

     


    4. Delete a directory.

    Move the mouse over the directory name to be edited. The Delete button appears on the right side of the directory name.

    Click  and a deletion confirmation dialog box pops up.

    Click OK and the directory is successfully deleted, together with any subdirectories under the directory.


    5. Draw an area map – zoom in/out on a map.

    By zooming in/out on a map, you may go to specific area that you wish to draw.

    Click the [+] button beside the map to zoom in on the map.

    Click the [-] button beside the map to zoom out on the map.

    6. Draw an area map – contour an area.

    Click the [] button beside the map, select a certain point on the area boundary to contour the area.

    The two points selected successively are automatically connected by a straight line.

    If you made a mistake, click [Delete the previous dots] to correct it.

    Click again on the first point to finish drawing the shape.

     


    7. Draw an area map – set area information.

    After an area map is completed, a setting dialog box will pop up, in which you can set area name and center point.

    After the longitude and latitude of the center point is set, an area tag will appear forcibly at the center point, with the longitude and latitude separated by a comma.

    If no center point is set, then the center point will be automatically figured out when the area tag is displayed.

    Click Save and the area information is successfully set.

    Click Cancel and the area information is not set for the time being but the area contour is retained.

    Click Delete and the area contour is removed.

     


    8. Draw an area map – quickly draw an area.

    You may draw a rectangular to delimit an area in a relatively regular shape.

    Click the [] button beside the map and hold down the mouse and drag it to draw a rectangular, i.e., a delimited area.


    9. Draw an area map – edit the current level.

    Click the [] button beside the map and the area boundary of the current level becomes a dotted line.

    Drag a point on the boundary to adjust the area map.

    After the change is completed, click Save to effect the change.

    Click Cancel to undo the change.

     


    10. Draw an area map – delete the current level.

    Click the [] button beside the map and click on the level to be deleted.

    Click Save and the level is successfully deleted.

    Click Cancel and the level selected will not be deleted.

     


    11. Draw an area map – save and reset.

    After the area map is completed, click the [Save] button on the top of the map.

    If the area map is incorrectly drawn, click the [Reset] button on the top of the map to empty the area map settings in the current directory.

     


    12. Draw a point map – zoom in/out on a map.

    Click the [Point] button on the top of the map to switch to the point map setting pane.

    By zooming in/out on a map, you may select map points in the specific area that you wish to draw.

    Click the [+] button beside the map to zoom in on the map.

    Click the [-] button beside the map to zoom out on the map.


    13. Draw a point map – add Point 1.

    Click the [] button beside the map, select the area to be set and left-click to place a marker point.

    In the pop-up setting pane, input the point name.

    Click Save and the point name is successfully set, the longitude and latitude are automatically obtained and point information is generated, which is added to the point information list on the right side.

    Click Cancel and the area name is not set for the time being but the marker point is retained.

    Click Delete and the current marker point is removed.


    14. Draw a point map – add Point 2.

    Click the [Add] button below the right-hand point information list.

    A record is added to the list. Just input point name, longitude and latitude in the list.

     


    15. Draw a point map – add marker points in bulk.

    Prepare an excel file recording point names and longitudes and latitudes in advance.

    Click the [Import Data] button below the point information list and select the prepared file.

    A data preview pane pops up. Preview point information.

    If the information is correct, click OK and the point information is added to the point information list.

    Click Cancel to give up importing point information.

     


    16. Draw a point map – edit the current level.

    Click the [] button beside the map and the point boundary at the current level becomes a dotted line.

    Drag the marker point to adjust the point map.

    After the change is completed, click Save.

    Click Cancel to undo the change.

     


    17. Draw a point map  – delete Point 1.

    Click the [] button beside the map and click the marker point to be deleted.

    Click Save and the marker point is successfully deleted.

    Click Cancel and the selected marker point will not be deleted.

     


    18. Draw a point map – delete Point 2.

    In the point information list, select a record.

    Click the [Delete] button to delete the selected marker point.
