    Application Scenario

In FineBI, once you set a filtering condition in the filter component, data filtering is executed automatically.

However, if there are multiple filter components in the dashboard and a large amount of data is used, it is unnecessary to perform a query every time a filter component is set as the query consumes great resources and time. FineBI provides Query and Reset components to solve this problem.

Here's an example dashboard with three filter components. If you add the query and reset buttons, you can choose to execute a query after finishing setting the three filter components.

    Function Description

    1. A dashboard can contain at most onQuery button and one Reset button.

2 The Query button only takes effect during preview.

    Example

    Adding a Component

    Adding the Query/Reset Button

Click Filter Component and drag the Query and Reset buttons into the dashboard, as shown in the following figure.

    Enabling Auto Query During Preview

Click the Query button, and you can see that the Auto Query During Preview is enabled by default, as shown in the following figure.

If Auto Query During Preview is enabled, a query is automatically executed with the default filtering conditions during the preview, and you do not need to click the Query button. If you set other filtering conditions, click the Query button to trigger filtering, as shown in the following figure.

If Auto Query During Preview is not enabled, no query is executed automatically according to the default filtering conditions during the preview, and the component displays a blank page. You need to click the Query button to display the filtering results.

    Effect Display

Set filtering conditions for three filter components, and click the Query button to get the filtering results. Click the Reset button to clear all previously set conditions, as shown in the following figure.

    Troubleshooting

No Response After You Clicking the Reset Button

    Triggering condition:

This issue may occur if you add both Query and Reset buttons, while the Auto Query During Preview option for the Query button is not enabled.

    Triggered effect:

After you add the filtering condition, the dashboard filters data automatically. But if you click the Reset button, it only clears the filter condition and does not trigger a query.

    Cause:

After clicking the Reset button, you may need to set the filter condition again. If a query is automatically triggered at this time, it will involve the full amount of data, consuming great resources.
