When updating a large volume of data, you often need to repeatedly schedule the data update at a fixed time to ensure that the latest database data can be displayed.
After the update, you need to know the reasons for the failure if the dataset update fails. You need to be notified the update results so that you can know if your data has been successfully updated.
FineBI supports the Scheduled Update function. With the preset time, you can schedule your update more reasonably.
The Scheduled Update function supports Global Scheduled Update, Folder Scheduled Update, and Single Table Scheduled Update.
Besides, the Scheduled Update function also supports Result Notice so that you can stay noticed of the update results promptly.
Before performing the data update, you need to log in as an admin, or you have the management permission for the data you intend to update.
You are not advised to set the frequency of your update too high. If the update frequency is set too high, the system may start the next update before the current one is completed, increasing the risk of a system crash.
Only the super admin can perform global update.
1. Choose Public Data and click Global Update in the upper-right corner, as shown in the following figure.
2. Click Schedule Setting, as shown in the following figure.
1. The Scheduled Update setting page will appear after you click Schedule Setting, and now you can make specific settings for your scheduled update.
Task Name: Click the box on the right, and you can rename the scheduled update task.
Start Time and End Time: The two functions refer to the start time and end time of your update task, not the duration. The granularity of the start and end time can be refined down to hours, minutes, and seconds. Click to select the start time.
Execution Frequency: Click the box on the right, and you can select four methods of execution frequency from the drop-down list, and the four methods are Only Execute Once, Execute Repeatedly, Set Detailed Frequency, and Set Expression.
Result Notice: Toggle the button on, and you can set Notification Time, Notification Recipient and Notification Method.
The following figure shows the example of the setting.
The setting items of Execution Frequency and its corresponding End Time are as follows.
Execution Frequency
Description
Corresponding End Time
Only Execute Once

There is no need to set the end time.
Execute Repeatedly
Four types of time granularity can be set:
Minute(s), Hour(s), Day(s), and Week(s).

The setting for interval time can be refined.
Execution Time: The execution time can be
refined down to minutes. Hour(s) needs to be

For details about the usage of
