Application Scenario
You may wonder how to reuse template resources in the market quickly and how to beautify a template and save time on style configurations. In this case, you may need to fix the commonly used component styles or functions to quickly create templates.
FineReport provides the FVS resource center for you to solve the above problems. Using the FVS resource center, you can improve template production efficiency, enrich template effects, and enhance template aesthetics.1. You can reuse local resources, including templates, components, images, and videos.
You can filter templates according to industries, business scenarios, and theme colors.
You can filter components and component packages according to component types, tags, and theme colors.
You can filter images according to image types, tags, and theme colors.
You can filter videos in the local resources.
2. You can manage all local resources through My FVS Resource Management.
Use Scope
My FVS Resource Management is a space for centralized management of all resources under the current project. Resource types include templates, components, images, and videos.
You can reuse resources My Resource which stores local resources, including built-in resources.
Resources added to the canvas are no longer affected by My FVS Resource Management. That is, if you delete resources in My FVS Resource Management, you can still normally use resources already added from My FVS Resource Management.
Resource Reuse
Template Resource Reuse
If you want to create a visualization dashboard, you can drag the local template to My Resource or click to open the local template and save it to My Resource.
If the template exists in My Resource, hover your cursor over the template and click Create to open the template.
You can also add template resources locally, but you can only select and create templates when creating a visualization dashboard.
Component Resource Reuse
Click My FVS Resource Management under Resource > My Resource and click Add from Local to select local component resource files (.mfreu).
After the files are added, click Refresh Resource to obtain added components for use.
My Resource supports components, images, and videos.
Image Resource Reuse
You can use the built-in resources of the designer by selecting My Resource when selecting image resources.
You can also click My FVS Resource Management and Add from Local to upload local image resource files.
After the files are added, click Refresh Resource to obtain added images for use.
Video Resource Reuse
The built-in video resources under Resource Center > My Resource are supported in the local video component and FVS template loading effect.
You can also click My FVS Resource Management and Add from Local to upload local video resource files.
After the files are added, click Refresh Resource to obtain added videos for use.
FVS Resource Center
FVS Resource Center is mainly used to manage all resources (namely resources in My Resource) saved on the current server. You can add, delete, and group resources in the FVS resource center.
1. Login is needed if you want to access the resource center. The account should be consistent with that of the remote design. If the remote design is connected to the report directory of the server, you can access the resource center with the account and password of the remote design, rather than perform login again. You cannot switch or log out of the account.
2. Resources in the resource center should not be simultaneously operated by multiple people, as resource editing abnormalities (such as the current resource access failure) may occur.
3. If you access the resource center from the local designer, the platform username is uniformly displayed as Unknown user.
Function Entry
Based on the above sections, you can open My FVS Resource Management in each resource reuse scenario by clicking Add Manually. You can also open the pop-up window under Server > My FVS Resource Management on the top menu bar.
Resource Type and Storage Location
FVS Resource Center includes four types of resources: Template, Component, Image, and Video. All resources are stored in the path %FR_HOME%\webapps\webroot\WEB-INF\assets\reuse, as shown in the following figure.
Since both resources and their creation information are stored in the reuse folder, the resource format is uniformly processed, as shown in the following table.
Resource Type | Resource Format |
---|---|
Template | .mfvs |
Component | .mfreu |
Image | .mimg |
Video | .mvid |
Adding Resources
You can add templates, components, images, and videos from the local computer.
You can select multiple files from the local computer for upload. A prompt will pop up if the sizes of the to-be-uploaded files exceed the limit. The following table describes the supported format types and file size limits.
Resource Type | Format | File Size Limit |
---|---|---|
Template | .fvs and .mfvs | Less than 500 MB |
Component | .mfreu | Less than 100 MB |
Image | .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .apng, .gif, .webp, and .mimg | Less than 20 MB |
Video | .webm, .mp4, .mov, .ogg, and .mvid | Less than 50 MB |
Resource Management
Although the management of resources with different types is independent, the management setting items are consistent. The following sections introduce each setting item separately.
Grouping
Click the + icon on the right of All Groups to add groups. The default name of the added group is Unnamed Group, which can be renamed by double-clicking.
Hover the cursor over the group name and click the icon to rename or delete the group, as shown in the following figure. If you delete a group, all resources in this group will be deleted. The deletion operation cannot be undone. The resources are unrecoverable.
Resource Renaming, Move, and Deletion and Resource Cover Modification
1. Hover the cursor over a resource to perform Edit, Move, or Delete operations.
Edit: allows you to rename resources. The names of resources in the same group must be different, while the names of resources in different groups can be the same. You can modify component types for component resources and image usage for image resources after clicking Edit.
Move: allows you to move the current resource to another group.
Delete: allows you to delete the current resource.
Modify Cover: allows you to re-upload the resource cover. Set NinePatch is supported in image resources.
2. Select a group in All Groups. Move and Delete buttons appear above the resource list, allowing you to perform batch move or deletion operations on resources in the current group.
Resource Search, Sort, and Filtering
You can search for resource names.
You can sort resources by creation time (default sort setting) or by name.
You can filter component and image resources through tags.
Resource Refresh
Refresh Resource is used to refresh entire resources in the resource center. If you add or delete resources in the storage path %FR_HOME%\webapps\webroot\WEB-INF\assets\reuse, you need to synchronize the update through the Refresh Resource function.
Custom Component Resources
You can save components or component combinations created by yourself to My Resource in the resource center.
Select a component or component combination, right-click the mouse button, click Save to FVS Resource Center, and wait a few seconds for the entering page of the component resource information to pop up.
The entering page of the component resource information includes Component Name, Cover, Type, Group, Version, and Creator.
Component Name (mandatory): allows you to enter a component name. The default name is the component name. When you save the setting, the duplicate name verification will be performed. If the component name is the same as that of another resource, a prompt displaying "A file with the same name already exists. Do you want to replace it?" will pop up.
Component description (optional): allows you to enter a description for this resource. This setting option is empty by default.
Cover (mandatory): allows you to upload images. The default cover is the component screenshot. If the component screenshot cannot be obtained, you need to manually upload a cover.
Type: allows you to select a component type from all selectable types in the drop-down list. The default type is consistent with the component type. The default type for a component combination is Other.
Component composition (unmodifiable): includes the single and combination components and is automatically determined based on whether a combination exists.
Group (mandatory): allows you to switch and create groups. The default setting is Default Group.
Version (unmodifiable): records the version information of the currently used plugin.
Creator (unmodifiable): records the name of the user who creates the component resources. The name of the user who logs in to the remote design or the local designer is Unknown user. This setting item is automatically obtained.
After saving successfully, you can view the result in the FVS resource center. When reusing the saved resource in the component area, you need to manually click Refresh Resource in the lower right corner to obtain the resource.
FVS Resource Update
In the FVS resource center, the Embedded Resource group exists in image and video resources by default. Resources in Embedded Resource can be updated under Server > FVS Resource Update on the designer menu bar.
After the update, click Refresh Resource in the FVS resource center to obtain resources.
If you (as an intranet user) cannot update resources, you can download Built-in Resources.zip. Decompress the file, place the corresponding resources into the image and video folders in the path %FR_HOME%\webapps\webroot\WEB-INF\assets\reuse, and click Refresh Resource in the FVS resource center to obtain the resources.
