Function Description
This document introduces the hardware requirements for the FVS product and the instructions for plugin installation.
Configuration Requirement
1. The configuration requirements are for the client computers used for previewing, not for the server. 2. The configuration requirements for the computers used in the development environment can be lower than the recommended ones, but dedicated graphics cards are better if your computers have them. For dedicated graphics cards, you are advised to purchase Nvidia GeForce or AMD Radeon RX series cards, rather than professional graphics cards such as NVIDIA Quadro series or AMD Radeon PRO series which are not very compatible with web platforms. 3. During FVS use, the network bandwidth must be at least 1MB/s (8Mb/s). Otherwise, some larger resources (such as 3D models and large videos/images) cannot be fully loaded.
Complex 3D Scene
The complex 3D scene refers to a 3D scene where 3D cities cover a larger area, a 3D scene with more custom models, or a 3D scene integrated with Unity components and having more than three pages, as shown in the following figure.
The following table shows the recommended configurations.
Hardware | Recommended Configuration |
CPU | Intel i5-12400 or AMD R7-4750G and above |
Memory | 32.0 GB |
Graphics Card | Dedicated graphics cards NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti or AMD RX 6700 and above |
Operating System | 64-bit version, Windows 10 or later |
Browser | Chrome browser only (the latest 64-bit version recommended) |
General 3D Scene
The general 3D scene refers to a 3D scene where 3D cities cover a smaller area, a 3D scene with fewer custom models, or a 3D scene with less than three pages, as shown in the following figure.
The following table shows the recommended configurations.
Hardware | Recommended Configuration |
CPU | Intel i5-10500 or AMD R7-4650G and above |
Memory | 16.0 GB and above |
Graphics Card | Dedicated graphics cards NVIDIA GTX 1650 or AMD RX 6400 and above |
Operating System | 64-bit version, Windows 10 or later |
Browser | Chrome browser only (the latest 64-bit version recommended) |
Non-3D Scene
The non-3D scene refers to a scene with no 3D components but dashboards or gauges of 2D charts, as shown in the following figure.
The following table shows the recommended configurations.
Hardware | Recommended Configuration |
CPU | Intel i5 6th generation and above |
Memory | 8.0 GB and above |
Graphics Card | Dedicated graphic cards recommended |
Operating System | 64-bit version, Windows 10 or later |
Browser | Chrome browser only (64-bit version, with the minimum required version of 86.) |
Plugin Installation
You can obtain the plugin at https://community.finereport.com/plugin/?id=80.
For details about how to install the plugin in the designer, see Designer Plugin Management.
For details about how to install the plugin on the server, see Server Plugin Management.
1. When installing the plugin, you need to note the time requirements of the plugin version on the JAR package of the designer. For details, see Mismatch Issues Between Plugin and JAR Package. 2. Template effect may not be fully displayed if you open a template (edited with the plugin of a higher version) with the plugin of a lower version.
Plugin Authorization
To use this plugin, you need to purchase the corresponding functions in FineReport’s license registration.
If the report server project is not registered or the license has expired, a message is displayed in the lower right corner of the template during FVS template preview, indicating that you are using a function which is not registered: FineVis Visualization Dashboard.
If the report server project has been registered with an official license not containing FVS function points, FVS templates cannot be created or opened. In this case, you need to switch to unregistered project trial.
The following table lists function points corresponding to FVS.
Function Point | Description |
Visual Dashboard | Most basic functions and common components of FineVis data visualization.
|
Multi-page Design | Functions related to FVS multi-page desgin. |
FVS 3D Component - 3D City | Functions related to FVS 3D city scene components. |
FVS 3D Component - Custom Model | Functions related to FVS custom 3D scene components. |
FVS 3D Component - Unity | Functions related to FVS Unity components. |
Template Environment File
After the plugin is successfully installed, the option New FineVis Visualization Dashboard appears in the drop-down list of File. You can select the option to create a template.
Notes
When you create a FineVis visualization dashboard, an environment check will be performed to check whether there exist missing environment files that make you unable to create or open the template.
The following figure shows the pop-up page If content is missing in the local designer environment. If you click Update Now, you will be redirected to the designer update page.
If content is missing in the remote designer environment, you cannot create a FineVis visualization dashboard, and you will be prompted "Since the environment file is missing, you cannot create or open a FineVis visualization dashboard. Contact the administrator for help." / In this case, the administrator can check the report project environment, add the related JAR packages, and restart the designer. Note: You do not need to modify the server.
Intranet users can download the JAR packages of the corresponding versions, place the downloaded files in the local designer installation directory %FR_HOME%\lib, and restart the designer.
When downloading the JAR packages, you can confirm the needed versions by following the steps below.
1. Step one: checking the plugin version
For the plugin of versions earlier than 1.3.0, you need to download the JAR packages related to jxbrowser of versions 6.23 and 7.15.
For the plugin of versions 1.3.0 to 1.16.0, you need to download the JAR packages related to jxbrowser of versions 6.23 and 7.22.
For the plugin of versions later than 1.16.1, you need to download the JAR packages related to jxbrowser of versions 7.22 and 7.26.
2. Step two: downloading the files required by all environments according to versions
