    Function Description

FineBI provides you with three types of tables: Detail Table, Group Table and Cross Table.

This document introduces the differences among the three tables, helping you choose the most suitable one for data analysis.

    Detail Table

A detail table is used to display detailed data. Generally, a detail table contains a large amount of data records, which can be used for analysis, querying, and other operations.

For example, the detail table lists all data records one by one, as shown in the following figure.

    Group Table

A group table is composed of a row dimension and an indicator and does not have a column dimension. The table groups data according to the dimensions dragged into the row header and performs summary statistics on data in indicators.

For example, the group table consolidates data according to the Province field and displays the data as one group, as shown in the following figure.

    Cross Table

Compared with the two tables above, a cross table is more complicated, which consists of a row dimension, a column dimension, and an indicator.

Generally, the table displays the row dimension on the left side, the column dimension at the top, and the indicator at the intersection of the two dimensions.

The table allows you to expand data horizontally and vertically and locate an indicator from the two dimensions (variables).

For example, data are displayed in groups according to the Contract Type and Contract Payment Type fields, as shown in the following figure.
