You can set an update task for one of the base tables in a folder on the Public Data page. If you need to update one single table, the function of Single Table Update will be more time-saving than that of Global Update and Folder Update.
If you need to update one single table in your self-service dataset, you can refer to Single Table Update of Self-Service Datasets.
The update time of one single table:
1. Update Now: You can update one single table immediately.
2. Scheduled Update: You can update one single table at a particular fixed time.
The update content of one single table:
1. Full-Volume Update: You update the data of the current table, and all the data in the corresponding table in the database will be updated to the local.
2. Incremental Update: On the basis of the locally-stored data of the table, the data that has not been updated in the corresponding table in the database, and that is different from the data stored in the current table, will be updated to the local.
1. Choose Public Data, select one base table, click Update Information, and click the Single Table Update icon, as shown in the following figure.
2. Go to the Single Table Update setting page, as shown in the following figure.
From top to bottom, the red boxes displayed in the figure are as follows:
1. The selection box in the upper-left corner: You can select the update methods of single tables when during a business package update. The update methods you can select are Full-Volume Update All Time, Full-Volume Update Only for the First Time (Incremental Update Hereafter), and Full-Volume Update Only for the First Time (No Update Hereafter).
2. The button of an immediate update: This button is a trigger for immediately performing a single table update to the table you have chosen. Besides, you can click the icon right next to the button, open the drop-down list, and select the update methods from the list: Full-Volume Update or Incremental Update. If you directly click Update Now without opening the drop-down list, a full-volume update will be immediately triggered by default.
3. The setting box for a scheduled update: You can perform a scheduled single table update to the table you have chosen. Besides, you can choose Full-Volume Update or Incremental Update on the Scheduled Update setting page.
4. The setting box for an incremental update: is the box in which you can choose Incremental Increase or Incremental Deletion for an incremental update. For details, you can refer to Incremental Update.
The details of update methods are described below.
1. Perform single table update configuration for subsidiary dimension table in the folder Sale_Lisa.
Select the mode from the drop-down list of During Business Package Update:
Full-Volume Update All Time: When the folder Sale_Lisa is updated, subsidiary dimension table will be updated at full volume all time along with that folder.
Full-Volume Update Only for the First Time (Incremental Update Hereafter): When the folder Sale_Lisa is updated, subsidiary dimension table will be updated at full volume for the first time. After that, when the folder Sale_Lisa is updated again, subsidiary dimension table will only be incrementally updated.
Full-Volume Update Only for the First Time (No Update Hereafter): When the folder Sale_Lisa is updated, subsidiary dimension table will be updated at full volume for the first time. After that, when the folder Sale_Lisa is updated again, subsidiary dimension table will not be updated along with that folder.
The Update Now button is a trigger for immediately performing a single table update to the table you have chosen. If you directly click the Update Now button, a full-volume update will be immediately triggered by default.
Click the icon right next to the Update Now button, open the drop-down list, and you can select Full-Volume Update or Incremental Update to update immediately.
1. Full-Volume Update is selected in the example above. If selecting Incremental Update, you need to enter the corresponding SQL statements in the box below Incremental Update Mode. For more details, you can refer to Incremental Update and Incremental Update Example.
2. If you change the structure of the data table such as adding or reducing a field when you are performing an incremental update, the changed information will not be updated, and therefore an update error will occur. In this case, you need to perform a full-volume update first.
The Scheduled Update function is a scheduled update task for the current table, and the function is performed separately from the scheduled task of Global Update/Business Package Update.
1. Taking subsidiary dimension table as an example, click Update Information, click Single Table Update, click Scheduled Setting, and you will see the setting box.
2. Configure Task Name, Update Method, Start Time, Execution Frequency and End Time, and click OK, as shown in the following figure.
1. The update period consists of three parameters: Start Time, Execution Frequency, and End Time. The configuration of the update period is consistent with that of the Scheduled Update in Global Update.
2. The scheduled task of the same type cannot have the same name.
3. There will be a task under Scheduled Setting, as shown in the following figure.
4. Click OK, and the scheduled update will be performed according to the set time. You can see the relevant information of the full-volume update of subsidiary dimension table on the subsidiary dimension table Update Setting page, as shown in the following figure.
