    Application Scenario

    FineDataLink supports GaussDB 200 data sources for data reading and writing in Scheduled Task, data writing in Pipeline Task, and data reading in Data Service.

    Preparation

    Version and Driver

    Download the driver package and upload it to FineDataLink. For the specific steps of uploading the driver package, see the section "Prerequisite" of Driver Management.

    Connection Information Collection

    Collect the following information before connecting FineDataLink to the database.

    • IP address and port number of the database server

    • Database name

    • Username and password of the database

    • Database mode

    Connection Steps

    1. Log in to FineDataLink, choose System Management > Data Connection > Data Connection Management, click New Data Connection, and click the GaussDB 200 icon, as shown in the following figure:

    If you are not the admin, you can configure data connections only after the admin assigns you permission on Data Connection under System Management > Permission Management. For details, see Data Connection Management Permission.

    2. Fill in the connection information collected earlier. Click Custom of Driver, and select the uploaded driver mentioned in the section "Version and Driver."

    You cannot set Pattern unless the database is connected. Click Click to Connect Database and click Pattern, as shown in the following figure:

     3. Click Click to Connect to Database to test the connection. If the connection is successful, you can choose the connection mode as needed, and click Save to save the configuration, as shown in the following figure:

    Data Source Usage

    In scheduled tasks and Data Pipeline tasks, you can choose COPY Loading or Common Loading as the loading method.

    COPY Loading: Recommended when the data volume is large.

    Common Loading: Recommended when the data volume is small or when the necessary user permission for COPY Loading is not available.
