    Version

    FineBI Version
    Functional Change

    6.0

    • Allowed you to enable/disable the zoom by wheel effect. For details, see section "Enabling/Disabling the Zoom by Wheel Effect on the Map."

    • Allowed automatic saving of the state after you zoomed in/out on a map or changed its center point in the editing state. Allowed you to view the state after modification when you viewed the map in the component subsequently.

    Function Description

FineBI provides a powerful built-in data map function, enabling rich map visualization effects. The following introduces the function:

    • Amap and Mapbox map layers are used in maps in FineBI. The coordinate system used in the maps is GCJ-02.

    • FineBI supports various types of maps, such as drill maps, thermal maps, flow maps, point maps, area maps, and custom maps.

    • You can use built-in GIS layers such as Amap and Mapbox. Alternatively, you can customize the GIS map background.

    • You can realize map zooming.

    • You can create offline maps by custom Web Map Service (WMS).

    Map Type

This section introduces various types of maps available in FineBI and their extended effects.

    Built-in GIS Layer

Two types of built-in GIS layers are available:

    1. Standard: Several styles of standard themes of Amap maps are available, satisfying the matching of templates of different styles. Besides, the map compliance requirements are well met.

    iconNote:

    1. If you select Standard in GIS, GIS backgrounds will be exported based on the setting during dashboard export. If dashboards are exported through Task Schedule, the GIS backgrounds are Amap maps selected from the drop-down list when Custom is selected in GIS).

    2. If you select Standard in GIS, GIS backgrounds are drawn by WebGL. Due to WebGL memory constraints, when excessive map components where standard Amap layers are used exist, the map components may not be fully loaded.

    3. For details about the component style page, see Chart Component Style.

    2.png

    2. Custom: The official customizes layers through custom TileLayer, and the custom layers are built into FineBI for your use.

    iconNote:
A maximum of seven GIS layers of Amap can be displayed in a component of FineBI.

    Custom GIS Layer

    Application Scenario

    • If the built-in backgrounds cannot satisfy your actual needs, you can customize layers.

    • If you want to use layers of Baidu Map, or display layers in English, you need to find relevant layer resources by yourself and use the resources in Custom GIS Layer.

    Introduction

Three methods, namely tilelayer, WMS, and WMTS, are available for customizing GIS layers. For details, see Customizing GIS Layers.

    4.png

GIS Layer in the Internal Network Environment

    1. If you are in an intranet environment, GIS backgrounds inputted in tilelayer (namely built-in GIS backgrounds) in FineBI cannot be loaded. In this case, you need to customize GIS layers by WMS. For details, see Customizing WMS.

    2. After you click Load Layer, images may not be fully loaded. For details about the solution, see section "Notes" in Customizing GIS Layers.

    Updating Map Files

Built-in map files are prone to be outdated due to the frequent updates of administrative boundaries. To ensure your normal use of maps, you can download the latest map files. For details, see Map File Update.

    Others

    Retaining Only China's Layer

    iconNote:
You can also find the layer unique to China and use the layer in Custom GIS Layer.

    1. You can deselect GIS under Component Style > Background. In this case, no GIS layer exists in the map, and only China's map is displayed, as shown in the following figure.

    动图1.gif

    2. In this case, you can modify the color of China's map in the Color bar in Graphic Property, as shown in the following figure.

    动图2.gif

    3. You can set the background color for the map component, as shown in the following figure.

    World Map Creation

    Data Preparation:

The data on other countries is needed. You can convert indicator fields into geographic roles or convert dimension fields into geographic roles to create a world map.

    iconNote:
FineBI allows you to display data on other countries in the world in the form of maps (excluding drill maps). If you want to display data on cities in other countries in the form of maps, you need to manually add the JSON files of cities in other countries.

    Simple Example

For details about creation procedures, see Area Map.

Displaying Only the Map of a Certain Province

Currently, area maps display only China's map. If you need to display a certain province of China individually, you can configure the setting. For details, see Displaying Areas Dynamically on a Map by Parameter and Custom Image Map.

    Removing the Amap Logo

    Problem

In some cases, you may want to remove the Amap logo, as shown in the following figure.

    6.png

    Solution

Choose Component Style > Background, and select Custom after ticking GIS in Component Background, as shown in the following figure.

Enabling/Disabling the Zoom by Wheel Effect on the Map

During the map preview, the zoom by wheel effect is enabled by default. If you need to disable the zoom by wheel effect, you can click the following icon, as shown in the following figure.

    iconNote:
The function only takes effect on PC.

    Creating geographic roles

During map creation, you need to prepare two geographic dimension fields (namely, longitude and latitude fields).

    Map matching

Sometimes, the area names in your map data may be inconsistent with the built-in ones in FineBI maps, causing data display failures in the front end. In this case, you can use the map fuzzy match function in FineBI.

    Map Fuzzy Match

Municipalities (Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing) are displayed at the province level by default. To display data on municipalities and general cities, you need to refer to the document.

Matching the Geographical Role (City) with Direct-administered Municipalities/Taiwan (China)/Special Administrative Regions

You can learn geographic role match rules in FineBI.

    Geographic Role Match Rules

Data in the data tables (in Traditional Chinese or English) cannot match the built-in maps in   FineBI when you create the map components. In this case, you need to refer to the document.

    Map export

You can click Export Excel to export the created map component. The preview images of map components will be preserved in   Excel.
